Wanted to post this here so everyone could vote

Hi, as you are aware our cause "Thank A Soldier" is in the top five in the Open web awards presented by Mashable & Motorla.

The first few days we were doing amazing in the votes but in the last two days we are getting out voted atleast by a four to one margin. There are no prizes in this awards just a chance to get our causes name out there and how important it is to show our men and women the gratitude they deserve.

It takes 10 seconds of your day to vote each day and I don't think that is much to ask when you consider what our men and women go through daily.

We are the only military related group in the top five and this is our big chance to help our group grow even more.

If You have a blog or website you can click on the PROMOTE option, then pick the category "Best Non Profit use of social media" and then select "Thank A Soldier" on the right side. You will be given HTML code to paste on your blog or website and it will take people automatically to the vote page.

There are TWO ways to vote :

Step 1: Go here
http://mashable.com/owa/votes?v=21&c=5
Log in with facebook or twitter and click submit & post

How to vote the long way :

Step 1 :
Go to the mashable website
http://mashable.com/owa/

Step 2:
Log in with Facebook Or Twitter by clicking the logo

Step 3:
In the Category drop down select Best Non Profit Use of Social Media

Step 4:
in the "I VOTE FOR" select "Thank A Soldier" in the drop down

Step 5:
Click Submit and post/tweet

Step 6:
Copy and paste the Mashable link in your facebook status with these steps and it will be posted on your wall for your friends to see.

I'm sorry for sending out the multiple messages but we have 3,070,000 members there is a good chance we can win this IF we all come together for a common goal.

terbeasch;
Thanks for the info on the area code, that helps a lot. Hope all is well with you and your sailor. Still no word of any kind yet. Trying to be patient, but it's getting harder each day that I don't hear from him.

Hey Julie;
I live in Forest Park. How about you? When did your son leave? My son just left on Nov. 18th. I'm so still trying to adjust and be patient and strong for him, but I miss him so much.

Barbara as Brenda said no news is good news, just watch for area code 847 to come up that will be your recruit calling, I was one of the lucky ones "sorta" I got a call on day 4 and it was not a good call he was so discouraged and upset then I didnt hear anything for over 2 weeks, next call was totally different, he was adjusting, upbeat and actually starting to like it, just be encouraging and write every day, they live for mail, someone once told me mail call to the recruits is like the ice cream truck at playground on a 90 degree day. lol
