Kathryn,
I'm so sorry - what does your son do? My son was an AO and did two deployments once on the Geo Washington and once on the Enterprise. It can be stressful. I will certainly keep you son and all the shipmates in my prayers. Is it a 6 month deployment and is your son ship's company?

Im so sorry. Ill will keep them in our prayers. I pray that there deployment is safe. Tell your son that I will be thinking about his shipmates and him. I say my prays at night for my son that his deployment will be a safe one, but now Ill add the Eisenhower to my prayers to

Please keep the crew of my son's ship, the Eisenhower, in you prayers. They are getting set for a deployment very soon and have just lost one of their shipmates. She was a 21 year old sailor shot in the head by her boyfriend. It is such a terrible thing to happen and at a such a bad time right before deployment. The Ike also lost a sailor last fall when he was hit by a plane during flight ops. So I am sure morale is not that great right now.

A school is where they get their training for their rate after boot camp. c school is additional training if needed, not everyone goes to C school

Hi Gayle he is AE aviation Electrician mate. He is currently in Pensacola waiting to class up for his rate which should happen 2/25. He PIR'd (graduated boot camp) 10/16 and has been on hold since then

Can someone explain what A school, C school, etc. are? I assume it has to do with training in their chosen job.
