you got that right Gloria! I know our son is banking his checks right now as one of his instructors recently returned from the ship and said he was paying $6 for a gallon of milk...we are paying almost $5 here and I don't have palm trees!!!

I love that lol bet he was like MOM that my money. I can see my son saying that to me and I would be like ........to bad so sad now its time for you to pay for something other then on yourself lol.

very true Gloria. Our son called my hubby first when he got the orders and expressed his concern about how expensive it was there and that we might not get to visit him ...his dad told him, he would have picked Hawaii as well.

I told him...I'm just taking the money from YOUR bank account to pay for my trip...I'll see ya plenty!

You are right but its less then alot of other hotels and most don't have a kitchen in them. So if you think about it less money spent going out to eat and more monry to see all the sites.

But isn't everything in Hawaii? Although it would not be my first place to stay, I was hoping that the Navy Lodge had the same rate all over the country. Ya know like that $62 rate at Great Lakes?! Not a chance!

I've already checked the prices for the Navy Lodge ...hoping their rates were universal ...they are not. $113 per night, which I imagine is a great rate in Hawaii...save $$$ here.

Yeah we did the math.... for three of us to go, flights, lodging etc. we are planning on about 1500.00 per person so we can just have fun and not be concerned about $$. We are getting some things paid off so we can start to put money towards that. Oh to get to go to paradise!!

I'm with ya Amber, we are hoping to go in the next year or two as well...perhaps if we start saving $$$ now...
