haha, hard to think of an iguana as cuddly! so do you just drop in the food so he doesn't take a chunk out of you?? ouch.

joni-- i agree, has to be the time and the place, everyone is free to make that decision for themselves.

i thought about trying to find him a new home..but on her form letter where she only got 2 lines to write, she asks, "How's Pablo?" Well, that settled that!

Wow, is the creature as large as it looks??? It wouldn't get any argument from me. At the first hiss, I's be in the next county.
You hang in there, Karen and do what you know is best and don't let anyone judge you for your decision. I've always let mine die at home. It's an individual, case by case decision and no one else but you knows what's best for your pet.

Hello, everyone..My daughter in in BC and has made me promise to take care of her pet iguana," PABLO" he hates everyone but her.. He hisses, bites and charges us..but when he sees her he actually smiles. He cuddles on her shoulder, nuzzles her cheek and hides in her hair..

hope you have a fun and safe trip joni!! that area is really nice, i enjoy it. told my hubby we need to visit there together, took boys there a few years ago.

Our pets have all gotten ill, with long range issues which would have caused a lot of pain, we lost one cat at home though, i found her, it was terrible.. we have always stayed with the pets when it happened at the vets, petted and talked to them, that's hard too, but what can you do. Not looking forward to it again, but i know it will happen, two of our dogs are on the older side.
I would love to be able to work in a vets office but don't think i could leave that stuff at work, i'd be miserable too much, no way i could do that job i don't think.

Star had the bad day when I was on here freaking out. Since then shes been pretty good. I mean shes old but I havent seen any problems with her back legs since that day. She sleeps a lot on the living room floor but so does Stinky Beans. If I had to do it over again I would not have not gotten the dog for me that I recently got. The older dogs do not like him bouncing around.

I forget the situation now as to why we took our 11-month old with FIV into the vet's while our other pets have died at home. He must have been suffering, but that was such an awful time, I've blocked it out. The animals we've let die at home have always gone within hours of getting bad. It was never a process that took days and we were with them the whole time. I remember when one of our cats was dying, my sailor called to tell me he was spending the night somewhere and I told him, "I just want to let you know that Felicity will probably be gone when you get back." She'd turned for the worst so suddenly, he hadn't known, but when I told him, he was back within minutes. He told me to go to bed and he stayed with her until she died. Sweet boy. We're leaving for Washington Friday to take him his van.
