Got the Good news tonight that Chris will be able to come home for Christmas and New Years. I am soooo happy because he is deploying to Iraq in January. Having him here will be great since as you know we missed having him home last year. Saying good by this time is going to be REALLY hard though. I don't want to think about that now. I just want to enjoy knowing that I will have all my family with all four of my kids here with me on Christmas!! Plus with this snowstorm we are having it will be a White Christmas also!! What more could you ask for?? Happy Holidays to you all!!!

Thanks for the update Paula on your daughter Lauren. I agree, it's good to hear how everybodies sailors are doing. My daughter Heidi took the photo. Hans hugged me when we were sitting together on the couch and Heidi said hold it and snap she took the picture

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all!

Quick update...Lauren has been given her orders and is now stationed at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma. Funny huh?!? In the Navy and 200 miles from the geographical center of the US. We laugh about this.

Anyway she has finished Aircrew, ATO A School and is scheduled to go to SERE Jan 15th. She'll start FRAQ in March. Which is basically classroom time followed by training flights. About 6 months worth. So hopefully she'll be pinned with her wings by October.

She's been assigned to TACAMO and will be flying on the E6-B Mercury. Even though she was trained ATO, she's been assigned another job on the plane while in flight. She cant tell me what she'll be doing since it is top secret.
I do know and its public info on the web that TACAMO is the direct link between the President/Secretary of Defense to all nuclear missles (subs/silos/ground). Pretty interesting stuff really.
Oh, and another exciting thing is she'll get her Crow (E4) in February. She's already taken the PO course and is just waiting for time in.

Laurens home for Christmas, just got here Wednesday and here for just over two weeks. Its really good to see her and hug her. Its been a long time. =)

Please have a good holiday with your family and if your sailor cant be with you send him/her my best wishes next time you speak.

I really enjoy the updates everyone gives about "our" bootcampers. Its fun to keep up with what they're doing. Take care all.

p.s. Thats a great pic Kim. =D

Hi Kim, Proud Navy Mom Sue and all!
Happy Thanksgiving to all. Dan will be home for Christmas as well. Haven't seen him since May although we talk often.
Looking forward to having him here for 2 weeks!

Hello everyone, I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving! My family is excited because Hans has Christmas leave and will be flying home from Japan. He'll be home in time for Heidi's (his sister) 19th birthday. He missed her 18th birthday last year because of boot camp.

Hello everyone! I haven't been on this site for ages and was just thinking I would see what is going on. Gee it seems impossible it has been a year already since the boot camp days. So thankful for this site and seeing us through the tough times. Scott graduates from Surg Tech School tomorrow and then starts Urology Tech School on the 23rd. He is staying in Portsmouth for another 6 months. I will get him for Christmas this year! Yeah!!!!! Hope everyone else has there kids home for Christmas also. Everyone have a great holiday season and we'll have to post more updates on our 1 year anniversary on Jan. 2nd. Take care and God Bless all our Sailors and their families.

To All,
Well I hope this past year has been good to everyone and the future will be also. Update on Jason, he and Erica married in Septemeber, and doing fine. Jason got pneumonia in October and is set back one class in nuke power school which was about 6 weeks or so. He is doing fine now and back on cleaning duties till he joins the next class. He may catch his original class waiting on prototype this spring. I have follwed all of you and it makes us proud to see how our sailors have come in just a year. All have happy holidays and good luck.

Yes, I too was thinking it has been almost a year since they all left for BC. So much has happened. Hans will be coming home for Christmas too from Japan!! Anne, I'm glad you can have Jeremy home for Christmas. It sure was hard last year for all of us not having them for Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Anne R-Glad Jeremy is excited and that you will be seeing him for Christmas. Too bad Chris didn't see him in VA. Chris actually just ran into another one of his BC buddies there, Dan, and found out they are being deployed together in January. You are right, it is hard to believe it has been a year already since they left for BC. It seems like yesterday. We are hoping to be able to have Chris home for the holidays but still not sure.

How is everyone else doing? Would love to get an update on everyone since it is coming up to our 1 year anniversary!!!
