Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 155 and 156

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Rate v. Rating trips up everyone.

Rating - Navy job

Rate - Navy rank

SR, Seaman Recruit, is the shared rate of all recruits,

Thanks crypto dad that is helpful and yes confusing.

How many SRs in a Division?

I've been a part of this group for just shy of a week because I just found it - and now am happy to say that we will be attending my son's PIR...we weren't sure due to lack of sharing information from his father (divorce situation - not a good one!)   --I only found out yesterday -finally - that we would get to be a part of this!  My son and I have recently reunited (due to those nasty divorce conditions and even nastier ex) and we are on great terms...so I had been a little heartbroken not knowing for sure if we were ever going to get information.  My son is Ship 11 Div 155...and I am so excited, I can't wait to see him next week!  Sorry I was so late to the game!

Navymompbr welcome and I'm so happy for you being able to be at PIR for your SR. I too am divorced..also remarried and we all will be riding on base in one car. Thankfully he and I are OK now it's been years.

Oh Lordy - If my ex and I were in the same car - it would be UGLY LOL....

My son is division 158/ but I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one divorced & remarried. It's hard when one isn't communicating with the other. I'm grateful we are ok now too, we are even sharing the hotel room trying to make it all about the boy on this special day. Gonna be weird, but it really is about him. Happy for you Navymompbr :-)

well to give you an idea of the animosity between he and I, he didn't share my son's high school graduation (and a variety of other events) with me (different city and school system from where I live)- I was devastated and heartbroken because I was not there...my son knows my feelings on that - and I absolutely insisted that I had better NOT be excluded on this one...(you know, in that evil don't mess with Mama insisting...LOL)...good thing, son listened.  I'm so excited for next week...it's going to be the longest week of my life - but I can't WAIT to get my hands on my son!
