I got my sons cruisebook this weekend, div 340. It was really neat seeing everyone's Sailor! Now waiting for the DVD and the Navy ring.

Linda - Thank you so much for the Navy Log info!! I actually found my Dad!! He was on an aircraft carrier that was sunk by the Japanese during the battle of Leyte Gulf in the Philipines. USS Gambier Bay sunk Oct. 25th 1944. He and the rest of the survivors where plucked from the sea a couple of days later. My Dad passed away a year and a half ago. I know he is watching over my son and all of our sailors with a big grin on his face and pride in his heart! Thank you, Moms, for your support and for the sacrifices of our fine young sailors! My Dad's name is Thomas F. Dennin.

My son has a bunch of pics of his sailor buddies on his facebook site. No names, so I have no idea who they are. Do they tell the sailors to keep others' names off their FB?

Ladies, I took my son to the Navy Memorial in Washington, DC before he left for RTC and I picked up some papers they have a site www.Navylog.org that you can add information about your sailor and download a picture this information will be on this site forever, they can continue to update the page and find other sailors that they know. You should check it out. It takes about 3 weeks for the picture to be downloaded.
