Helene, Colton is doing well. He is progressing, doing rehab, learning to do some paralympic type sports, hand cycling, javelin, etc. He has a great attitude and is such a fighter. We are very proud of him.

Graduation will be Oct. 2, so I will be heading to GL for the weekend. I am so excited. Can't wait to see my sailor. He got his orders for C school, in Dahlgren, VA. He will be working on a radar system, not a weapon, not what he wanted, but said it was the best available. It was the last set of orders posted before the fiscal year end. He has to be in Va on October 12, so only gets to come home for a few days. I will take whatever I can get.

WooHoo! Paul is finally finished with A school! He has to take the second half of ATT but then hopes to graduate on Sept. 25, which is one year after joining. He hasn't gotten his orders for C school yet, so we still don't know where he is going next, but we are very excited that he is done with A school and will be leaving GL before winter.

Ladies, I have heard that the sailor who died at GL last week, went to medical and was given Advil and SIQ. The news stories I found say that it happened on Sunday, and he didn't go to clinic until Thursday. I am concerned about our sailors. After my recent experience with my stepson, Colton losing his legs after gall bladder surgery at a military hospital and now this and some other stories I have heard from other people, it makes me very interested in getting the Carmelo Rodriguez Military Medical Accountability Act of 2009 passed. It is in committee right now. Our congressman are all at home right now, but hopefully will discuss it in September and will vote on it. I think that our sailors and soldiers deserve better than what they are getting as far as medical care goes. If you want more information or want to know what you can do, please PM me. I have a list of those on the House and Senate Judiciary Comm and would be happy to share it, so that you can write them as well. I won't discuss it on this group again, as I don't want to turn this into a political forum, but if anyone wants info, just send me a friend request and a PM.
