Hello, thought I would come on and do an update so to speak since this group is now an year old. Hard to believe last year this time we were getting ready for PIR and now our Sailors are scatterd to the 4 winds, serving in different places and doing various jobs.

My Sailor is doing well, he loves his job and is still lovin' the Navy. He will be a Career man I am told. We have only seen him 3 times since PIR, and each time it is harder when he leaves, oh well, I guess this weill be our way of life from here on out. Our last visit probably cost him his Christmas leave....but he came home for my brothers funeral. David and I have had a BAD year and are both looking forward to 2010! David is healing as well as expected from his motorcycle accident. His life is forever changed. His birthday is Monday, I asked him what he would like to have, his comment took me to my knees, he said, Shelia I dont want anything, I am just greatful to be alive and still be here with you. Goodness I love that man!

Mom struggles daily with my brothers death, the pain I feel, is crippling at times, yet I cannot imagine what she feels. His kids are doing well, however it has been a huge adjustment for them as Todd had full custody.

I am sorry to hear that Sunny's Mitch has had a struggle, keeping him and her in my thoughts and sending hopes of better days ahead for them.

I miss our hold PIR group so very much, I know there were issues, but as far as I am concerned you are all still a very important part of my Navy family. I choose to remember the good times we had on here, and forget the rest, my life has been eye opening so to speak in this last year, time is short here, so I cling to the good memories and happy times, as we never know what the future holds for us.

I wish each person who views this, health, happiness, love, a season of peace and time with the ones they love.

PIR 11/26/2008 was the best!

HOO RAH!

Oh cool. Is it the Blue Angels? Flying over the ocean is the best for them I think. How was Las Vegas? Hope you had a great time! Yes, there are a lot of Navy places to keep track of in that area. My daughter and her husband have been there since they got married and he will retire from that area next Sept. She is so happy to know that he will never deploy again. Their oldest daughter pulled her hair out (literally) every time daddy left and as soon as he was home she stopped. Weird, huh? Talk about separation anxiety. BTW, did you get to see Nikky?

Hey there Mimi! It is going OK I think. Hubby has recovered quite nicely from his surgery this summer and Sailor is still in school at Goose Creek. How is your Sailor? He is in Norfolk, VA, right? Close enough for you to get to see him occasionally.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear this news.... Hopefully Chris will find his dream job and then this will all be just a memory to look back on. "May you have Fair Winds and Following Seas" I for one will miss your presence here Nikky. You have such a bright personality that shone through even when you were stressed and a wonderful sense of humor too. God Bless You and Yours...

Hello All!!! Not for sure where everyone went - and have seen some of my groups get deleted while I was gone.
Well I am sad to say that I will not be a Navy mom any longer. Chris is getting a "General" discharge on Friday and will be coming home. I think for him - it was Navy Seals or nothing!! So he made his way out.
I will still leave my page on here - plus continue to keep the two groups I created so everyone does not lose touch - and will check in from time to time.
I want to thank each and every one of you for the great support this past year...it's been a very wild ride. I have much respect for each and every one of you and I want to congratulate and thank all of your sons/daughters for their service. Much love to you all!!!
Nikky - still a proud mom of Chris

Just a post here for all of you about my Sailor. He will be starting Power school on Monday then the plan is to graduate in January and then head off to Prototype for another 6 months of school. THEN and only then will he get to go to the fleet. He is so looking forward to that part. School takes so long for nukes. How are the rest of your Sailors doing? Hope some of you see this and say how they are doing. They all went through Boot camp together. Blessings on all of you and your Sailors!
