Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

*******BATTLESTATIONS******

This is the final test for the recruits, and then they become sailors.  It takes place some time during the last 8 days before PIR (Thurs night, none on Fri or Sat nights---Captains Cup on Sat----then can continue Sun-Wed nights).  Up to 4 divisions can go at one time, but sometimes less go.  They start with the lowest numbered divisions going first and work up...with the 800 and 900 divisions going at random times.  This is an overnight drill....on a ship created by Disney so you can imagine how realistic it is.  They are tested on all they have learned...and experience everything that can happen to them when deployed on a ship.  It is a night of adrenaline and excitement for them.  When they finish the next morning, there is a capping ceremony where they trade their recruit caps for their sailor caps...this is their graduation!  PIR is Pass in Review...where they can "impress" all of the families with their sailor status and all that they have learned.  It is quite a proud moment, not only for THEM but for the families too! 

They go with their brother divisions...in this case:

49+50, 51+52, 909 can go at any time, with some of these divisions or alone

The day that they finish BattleStations, they will have things assigned to do so they don't call home right away.  They may even have PIR practice before they can make their "I'm a Sailor" call.  Some may even have watch and may not be able to call until the next day.  Calls can start around 2 pm GL time...so keep the cells close all day.  This will truly be the most exciting call that you receive!  Please be sure to ask your new sailor if all in his/her division passed and post that on the board for the others. 

Ask your recruit when his/her division is scheduled for BattleStations and post the date on here.  We can try and get an approximate schedule on here then.  It is not an easy feat since there is sometimes discrepancy in the dates, but we can try!

husband wrote to me and said 909's BS is the 16th or 17th (dont know since he said SUNDAY THE 17TH).  so either or.  maybe sunday nite into monday

Ok, ladies...there is some confusion on the dates for Battlestations next week.  Been told both Monday and Tuesday nights for 51/52....so I suggest that all be ready for calls either Tues or Wed.  Also, not sure on 909.  Could be Sunday night or Monday night. So just be ready at all times!  Sorry for the confusion...but different reports from different people. Just keep the blue candles burning from Sunday night through Tues night and we should be ok!  :-)

Ok, since today is MLK Day (federal holiday), I'm thinking that 909 is actually going through tonight rather than last night.  They usually don't go through the night before a holiday.  But keep the cells close by just in case!

I am at work and have been crying all morning this is so much harder than I ever expected I have been crying for over 60 someting days where do all the tears come from? My family has been so worried about me cause I have been so depressed but I cant help it I love and miss my Travis so much sometimes I feel like I am gonna die Please let this call come soon cause I dont know how much more I can take:(
