Gail, enjoy your time to the fullest with Eric as I know you will.

I had one of those 'mom' moments and I know you all know what I mean. The news set me in full blubbers talking about Afghanistan. Knowing Justin time for deployment is probably coming up soon and knowing now how everybody's kids are like my own. I just couldn't take it. I miss him being here so much (would you believe my eyes are even tearing up as I type this).

Hi everyone! Today is the DAY! Eric will be home for 12 days - I am picking him up from the airport this afternoon. I just can't wait to see him. He is very ready for a break - he has been on t-track since he graduated A school in July.

Maryellen - the wedding is coming up so soon! Be sure to call me before you leave. Have a safe an wonderful trip - my prayers are with you!

Jody - I hope you get to see Justin soon. Eric came home for two days and it hardly seemed worth it.(Of course it is ALWAYS worth it to see him!). LOL I hope he gets to come home for the holidays. We are going to SC for Thanksgiving and then unless something changes - he wil get to come home for Christmas as the school is closed. My guess is that this might be the last time for quite a while.

Hope you all have a wonderful Labor Day weekend - I KNOW that I will!

Maryellen you all have a wonderful wonderful time and wish them well from all of us. I'm glad that some of you are getting to see your sailors. Our son was going to come home last month but he didn't want to come home for just a couple of days so he plans to come home for the holidays if he can. That will be wonderful-they just weren't the same without him last year.

Mary Ellen - So happy for Danielle's wedding. Liz is heading to Oceana. She is so excited. She will be working on F/A 18's. YEA!!!!!!! Hope everyone is doing well. Can you believe we have all known each other for almost a YEAR! Time flies when you're having fun - righ??

Wonderful story Jody, I know my heart goes out to any military when I see them.
Maryellen, have a wonderful time next week and give Dani our love.
Josie came in last night, only had a little rain when she got to Denton. She brought a navy friend home and Emily's sister came and picked her up from here. I told Josie why didn't the sister just ring the door bell and wait inside for you to get here--shy!! Told her next time to come on in.

Well we are leaving Monday for Virgina and the Wedding. It will be Great to see my baby, Sailor and best friend get married. I will be taking the pictures so I will post them as soon as I get back or maybe while Im up there.

Jody that is a wonderful story and I hope the next time my daughter flys and needs a Navy Mom she will find one to help her. She is very happy that I have the N4M's site to go to to share and find out more about our sailors. She went on my page and saw all the pictures and could not believe how many I posted and how proud I am of her.

I went to Atlanta last week for 2 days. There was a huge population of military there when I went and again when I came home. On the way home I struck up conversation with 2 guys and asked if there was a base or boot camp around and he said no maam (of course) that it was those coming in from deployment but he and his buddy was going out. They were all Army and I guess it's a big hub for them. I wanted to hug each and every one of them (mom in me).

As I was flying back this young girl was trying to use the pay phone with coins and having troubles so I felt this pull to help her and told her I was a 'Navy Mom' and would she like to use my cell phone. Told her to please take her time and call all that she wished. She was so sweet and yes maamed me. I just hope that when my son is out that some other mom/dad/etc would look out for him (she looked about Justin's age-19). Ya know...that just made my heart feel so very very good.

Maryellen, wonderful, fantastic, stupendous (and all those excitable words). I'm so very very happy that you can both be there. It would've been a hard egg to swallow for you to not be able to share in that day with her. So happy for you all!

Well God is good, My husband and I are both going to the wedding. Dani is so happy that we both are going to make it. I have gotten so much stuff for the wedding and we even go a great deal on a hotel with a kitchen in it and so we will be on the road come the 8th of September. I will be taking lots of pictures and will post them when I get back. I am going to cry alot so please send tissues LOL.

Maryellen, Wow! I'm so happy for Dani, I hope it works out that you get to go to the wedding.
Gail, Best wishes for Eric, he's a petty officer already! That is great news.We are so proud for you.
I haven't been on for a while, it's good to catch up with all our kiddos and their accomplishments!
JAM has a new boyfriend and a new car! She still loves her duty station and I hear from her almost every week. Hubby hasn't been feeling so well so we've only gone to visit her once. She has come home a few times since she got the new car. Best wishes to all of you!
