hi moms. gosh so much has happened. my sailor is in san diego with his ship. he just got news of his advancement testing which he passed. he is now an E5 2nd Class Petty Officer. He is in Damage Control which he is totally loving. He married his high school sweetheart and they are now expecting a baby. The Navy has been the best thing for my sailor and he would agree. He loves the Navy. he wouldn't change a thing and I am so thankful he is happy. we have all survived this crazy time and i hope that for all of us we have found some peace and happiness i know i have and my sailor has.

love to all

Hi all PIR 7/18/08 families! Merry Christmas! As 2009 draws to a close I am happy to report that Cory still seems satisfied with his choice to join the Navy. He's stationed in Little Creek, Virginia and is out on assignment this holiday....should be returning the end of January. He was home for a week in November, but I saw very little of him....hooked up with an old girlfriend, and you know the rest of that story! I'm hoping to take a long weekend in February and fly out to see him. Hope everyone has a wonder-filled holiday season!!!

Hi Moms: I got back from Virginia last Monday...had a terrific 4 days with my sailor/hero! Did all the tourist stuff, toured both Little Creek and Norfolk bases .... saw an aircraft carrier for the 1st time in my life. I don't know how in the world those things float....they are HUGE!!! I met his "girl of the week" and really liked her. We had dinner at one of the resturants on the beach.....it was just wonderful. But, I do believe that, as much fun as we both had, he was ready to see me head out so he could get back to his "normal" life! He thinks he'll be sent out on another "adventure" in Nov. or Dec., so I'm hoping to head back for another long weekend the end of October! I was hoping he would be home for Christmas this year....we'll wait and see, there are no orders yet!

Terry: I will be NO help with computer stuff. I hadn't a clue how to even check my email until I joined N4M's!! You're so right, October will be here before you know it. It sounds like you have a terrific trip planned.

Liz: Was so excited when I got on and saw your picture! Glad Frank Is liking the Navy. Cory is, also....that wasn't the case the first couple of months...but he's settled in and things are going well now. Just took a little while!

Connie: Michael is home now.....you're so right....kinda hard to believe it's already been a year! I'm finally starting to get used to being alone.....took me a while to settle into that one! I know you're loving having Michael home....those visits just go by way too fast.

Everyone, have a great week end....please check in again before next July!!!

Elizabeth--I was just thinking about you today------I was going to send you an email. Glad Frank is okay..what ship is he on?
Michael is coming home tomorrow for a week. he was actully supposed to behome today, but the flight were full--so he's staying at the USO at SeaTac tonight and coming early tomorrow.....
Everything so far so good. Has Frank seen interesting places?
How are things in Florida? Hope all is well with you.
Take care.
There seems to be a lot going on with our sailors--wow Casey, your son starting a family..how exciting for you all.
It is so amazing to think of all the experiences our sailors have had in a year.
You all take care

Hi Everyone,

Just reading the emails and I to can't believe it has been a year since BC graduation. My son Frank, is on his first deployment since May 2009. He is enjoying being in the Navy and we are so proud of him and his shipments in all they are doing for our freedom.

Connie: Glad to hear that Michael is doing well. Frank is enjoying working on the flight deck as well. I was able to see two pictures of him from the family ship website. You know that your son is growing up when you need to send him the pictures to confirm that it is him, LOL.

Hope to hear more great news on DIV 935 July 18, 2008.

May God bless and keep our children safe on land and at sea.

Liz

Got a couple of email from my sailor. he is doing great, excited that he is now doing the work they trained him to do. it's crazy but i think i can feel his excitement thought the email. i know he doesn't like leaving his wife at home but this is his job and he has trained a long time to finally get to sea on "his ship"

I think it will be ok. I am going to have to find a countdown clock and put on my page. I am so excited I think its going to take forever to get to oct but then again we are pushing into august. wow
