Oh, Robin in Florida, your kid will do just fine. Mine is from Michigan and has had to deal with a Florida summer. As for me, I would deal with Michigan weather all the time rather than the year round heat, humidity, hurricanes, etc. I have been praying for snow for a couple months now. You can always do something to keep warm. Here in Michigan, not all homes have AC, so when temps hit 90, it really sucks. Give me snow!

I wonder when we will get our videos and the yearbook!! I can't wait to watch the PIR all over again!!!!!!! Chris started BCC today so he is finally on his way!! He being FL boy is going to have a major issue adjusting to GL winter!!!! He is already dreading the bitter cold that he knows will come?

Thanks Jerilynn, I too go back in thought about that weekend. I am not the only one with a story about traveling w/a husband. ha, ha. But then my thoughts go back to the ceremony and it all just puts a smile on my face. I was talking w/our sailor about the speech that the Rear Admiral gave and I don't think he realized it either at the time. He said he was focusing on his knees so he would not buckle them he did not want to pass out. Plus he was one carrying a flag and so he was totally focusing on his job at the moment. But of course I recorded it and so he can always listen to it and remember. lol

I too have my NAVY momentos! lol

Hard to believe that 2 weeks ago I was on the train leaving Midway with my husband complaining about public transportation! I would not want to relive that angst again but I do go back to the PIR ceramony in my head quite often. I was showing someone the pictures the other day and I have one of the Rear Admiral that spoke...talking about how he got choked up and started to cry about loving the Navy. It was a great day for our Sailors and I dont know if they realize how blessed they were to be there on that day. Drinking coffee out of my "proud navy mom" mug, looking at my sailors picture and writing with my Navy pen...Yep! wouldnt change a thing!

Hope all is well with all of you and your sailors as they adjust to A school. Karen, please update us about Joel's situation when you get a chance. Have a blessed day.

I agree with you all. I too can hear from my sailor anytime and all the time. He is in GL and says it is not so bad. (Wait until winter, coming from AZ that will be a shock to him) There is alot for them to do there on base. Says he is really enjoying it. He finally starts school today. He was excited for that.

Praying for you Karen and your family. Keep us posted.

Good morning everyone. My Matt is in Goose Creek, South Carolina and started school yesterday. It is so nice to be able to hear or send him a message whenever I want.
Prayers are still going out for you Karen and your son. I am praying that there is good news for your son and your husband.
I wanted to thank everyone for all the support during boot camp-doesn't that seem like a long time ago! I wish the best for all your sailors and am so proud of all our troops!
Everyone have a peaceful day today! Remember that the rain showers are blessings from God so open up your arms and enjoy them!!!

Karen - I hope everything works out for your family and your Sailor today. You've been in my thoughts and prayers. Everyone, hope you're all doing well, I actually talked to my son today without getting a list of things to send him, it was nice, they had off base liberty over the weekend and he loved it. Should be phasing up soon, finished Indoc yesterday i think.

Hi, Karen. Your son's future is in the hands of the Lord. No better place to be. But I do understand that we fear the unknown future, and we want things to go OUR way. I truly hope and pray that all goes well for you and your family. Keep us posted. My kid is iin Pensacola. I only hear from him when he wants me to send him more stuff.
