Barbara, I know mine is doing the same thing spending where he wasn't doing it before LOL... I think it is because they have more freedom now.. Kim my son is in Pensacola as well waiting for classes to start. He was supposed to be in Japan on the 21st of September but I think that is all pushed back now being that he has not started classes as yet.
They belong to Uncle Sam now, one thing I tell Chris is that you will learn to have patience now..

Kyle is down to $30 in his account. That crazy child spent $100 on headphones..... I can't quite wrap my brain around that purchase. He
made that purchase right after he got out of his "how to handle your finances class"

JeriLynne, had to laugh cause our guy moved over to Pre-Buds and he is also spending money. Was soooo proud cause he only spent $20.08 from his pay all during boot camp. NOT the case now for sure.

Karen, praying for Joel (and you). Keep us informed.

Sean is moving barracks today at GL....he is getting stir crazy without school starting and he said "when i am bored, i spend money" so I think he is broke!

Karen, please let us know what happens. I am hoping and praying for the best for Joel.

Spoke with Kyle last night and he is still loving Pensacola. He has great roommates (including Adam) and at this point is taking classes here and there just waiting for the actual schooling to start. He believes he will phase up tomorrow, but if not he fine with it. He knows he will probably be in Pensacola for almost a year so he seems very patient with process at this point.

Good day to all! I agree Rae that I am more relaxed as well! My Matt is loving South Carolina! They had Liberty over the weekend and he went to the beach and did some body surfing from the waves of Hurricane Bill!! He is very happy with the hot weather -a big change from Indiana's crazy weather. He is enjoying school and getting to know a hole new bunch of sailors!
Karen you are still in our prayers-why can't they just make a decision so everyone can move on with their lives?

Seems like since PIR I'm much more relaxed. I still check this site out every day, but usually only once. It so nice to be able to talk to my daughter on a regular basis. She is in Pensacoloa and her first day off the base last weekend - spent a zillion dollars on civil. clothes! She called today to say A school starts Friday - she is very happy about that. Had heard so many stories of people on hold for months. Karen, my thoughts are with you and your family also.

Hi all havent had much time since pir to write. My sailor is on hold waiting for her a school to start and not too happy with it but now she has her ipod and phone and civilian clothes to gaze at lol she is trying to get a laptop but is frustrated with the lack of liberty they have had. But I can see her chiefs part too as he has a bunch of eighteen year olds to keep track of and I guess they have band waikeegan and a couple of other places because some of the sailors on base got in trouble there. They are so young and clueless as to the predators out there knowing they have money on them I shudder. She likes her roommates but the dust bunnies have gotten the best of them the last two room inspection lol thought Id send her a little cage for them so they can keep them as pets. I havent posted anything since graduation, but have felt so much more at ease since my son has moved on to P'cola. We talk to him so much more, however I am still unsure of when he starts A school.....sounds to me like they have to pass several on line tests and "class up" once all that is completed they move into a class...I am guessing. We ask him all the time and I am not even sure he knows for certain. Sounds like a lot of sailors have moved on to P'Cola. Karen, I am so sorry to hear about everything you and your family are going through, I can't even imagine! I will send positive thoughts your way!!!
