Hello Everyone! My Matt is doing well. Graduated A school and is waiting to start prototype (?) school. He does get to come for the Holidays. He is enjoying the warm South Carolina weather-he must watch the weather station because he calls when it is 80 degrees and brags about the weather while in Indiana we are sitting in the 20-30s. It dropped into the 50's the other day in SC and he still had on his t-shirt and shorts while everyone else had jackets on-he told them he was conditioning himself for cold Indiana weather!!! We are looking forward to him being home.
I pray everyone has a safe and Merry Christmas! Brenda

Happy Holidays to all, haven't been here to post in a while but, have been keeping up. Glad to hear everyones' sailors are getting to come home, going to their duty stations, finisfing their schooling (for now). Cory has been calling and sending e mails when he can. There is much going on on the Washington, and Japan is GREAT!!! I am still waiting for pictures, but, he's having a learning experience that I wish him all the best with. Was trying to come home for the visit he didn't get to since they lost his service record. But, was told he needed a passport?? He's going to talk to his Master Chief and I've gotten some helpful info for him, both from this site and the Ombudsman from the ship. All that being said he is really enjoying to be getting to cook and wants to work at night so he can bake? Guess it's to be expected, he has alot of grandmother and me in him. ( we both do the holiday baking thing and any chance we get). Whatever makes him happy makes mom feel great!!
I wish the Merriest of Christmas' to all of you and your sailors and the Greatest of New Years.

Joanie, that is cool that Tyler will be able to spend the holidays with you. I hope he gets to pick a good duty station. Jake is really excited to start moving to CA.

Congrats on those sailors who have finished A-school and are now getting orders. Sad for you moms whose kids have to leave on Christmas Eve. Tyler will be home on Dec 18th - Jan 3rd. So looking forward to hugging him again. He should finish A-school on Jan 26th. He said they will probably be picking orders after Christmas standown. He wants something on the east coast. Well gotta go and get back to work. Praying for safe travel for all...Bravo Zulu to all you sailors!

Hi, everyone.
Jake left Pensacola last Friday, is now home on leave, and also has to report to his new command Christmas eve. He's going to Point Mugu, CA. The time has gone by really fast, but I'll bet it's gone faster for our sailors.

Hi Joann. I think our little page is really sad now. =( I wish people would come on here more often just to give updates on their Sailors. How is yours doing? Did you have a nice Thanksgiving? I ate too much of course, but it is Thanksgiving after all. Haha.

My daughter is doing good. Is was wonderful having her home for Thanksgiving. She reports to her duty station tomorrow afternoon. She's excited, nervous and scared all rolled into one. Her sponsor said she might be assigned to the ER so she's pretty happy with that. Of course she said she'd be happy anywhere because she's excited to get started. Like I said, excited and scared. At least there are several of her friends there so she won't be starting this all alone. That makes me happy too.

Anyway, hope all is well with you. Hopefully more moms will post update soon. Take care.
