You would be surprised how many places give a military discount. My daughter has learned to be thrifty now that she has been on her own for 6 months, so she ask everywhere she goes. Interesting when they are spending their money and not Dad and Mom's.

Our daughter got in at 12:15 this morning. Interesting Delta let's them have free baggage if they show their military ID. Good thing because they were all heavy and an expensive price to pay for each piece. She especially enjoyed the military lounge when she flew into Atlanta. Sounds like some perks along the way which is great. She does have to fly back to Biloxi and leave from there headed to Japan, but at least we will have her for awhile. She was so excited to sleep in her own bed last night. 1st. time in 6 months.

Eddie's Momma sorry to hear about your niece - what a tragedy. I am glad that Eddie is doing so good. Matt said that he definitely did not want to be in BC in the winter and his A school is in Florida. His recruiter told him that you couldn't put on enough clothes to stay warm in the winter in GL. We live in Texas and we don't have to deal with a lot of cold weather.

Hello N4M's Friends. Sorry it's been such a long time. I hope you're all doing well. My son Eddie is still in Great Lakes. He doing well. He's Graduated ITT, BE&E last Week. His "A" School will not start until march or April of 2010. He's doing so good. I'm so very proude of him. It's a NICE 4 degrees there in GL tonight. LOL I know that my Boy must be so COLD !! It's been a Hard Week this past week for us. My Niece, Eddie's first cousin had died in a house fire last Week and Eddie was unable to come home for her Service. It's been very hard. She was a 23 yr.old Beautiful Mother to a 3yr.old son. We will miss her very much.

Hi Everyone, Hope you are all doing well. It sounds like our sailors are. Carolina, I hope your daughter gets to come home before going to Japan.Japan is a long way away but what a wonderful place to be stationed. She will learn so much about the people and its a beautiful place. Maybe you will plan to take a trip and see Japan in the future. I know how you feel Chris is still in Pensacola and he told me he wont be home for Christmas but soon after since he has to fly to his Duty station in Lemoore, California. There is no direct flight and it would cost him another $800 to come home. I sure do miss him. I haven't seen him since graduation which seem like it was forever.

Carolina,I hope things work out for you and your daughter to get home. Our son graduated A school in Port Hueneme in Nov. and was supposed to come home on a nonstop flight. then he realized the ticket back was to Gulfport. His orders were for Coronado-San Diego. So then he had to wait for another ticket. By then the rates had increased and he had layovers on the way to Ga. and on his way back to Calif. He is going to be stationed there 36 mos.-Seabees-CM. Got the phone call this afternoon less than 48 hours prior to her coming home and yes they can change her flight for $1,500.00. They are now telling her we can just get her a ticket to come home instead of the big fee for re routing everything since she HAS TO go back to her duty station prior to flying out to Japan.Which they would have told us that 1 week ago. Wouldn't believe the price of a ticket this close to leaving. So frustrated right now.

Hi Everyone,
So glad to see that everyone is doing well. I am so proud of all of our sailors. My husband just recently classed up and did really well on his first test yesterday. He has five more weeks before he finishes Aschool and then we hope to hear some good news. I am so ready to be with him wherever we get stationed. My prayers are with everyone.

Hi everyone!

Carolina Tarheel - hang in there they will get her home... Yep they change there minds quickly and they will get her a tkt....I'll keep my fingers crossed that she calls you today and has that tkt in hand.

My son was suppose to class up and now he will have to wait until after Holidays. Boy they finally get excited becuase they are building towards there jobs and career and then they are told nope after holidays.. very disappointing..
I thin I feel worst for him then he does. LOL..

My son too has just finished college classes and is ready to get started on his job.
