OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option.

~It is also a good idea to change your visibility settings for your Profile Page (MY PAGE) to "Just my friends."

The 900 divisions usually perform in the 2 graduations prior to their own....in addition to their own.

Hi Trubritt, so happy you got your form letter today. I seen mine in informed delivery this morning to, hopefully will be in my hands tomorrow. From what I understand with our SR's in the 935 division, they will start performing for the graduations after 5 weeks of training. I guess it depends on what they are doing. Our SR took ROTC through high school and was excellent in rifle drill so I think that may be what he is doing. Still a newbie here myself and learning a lot, so I may be wrong. :)

TruBritt, This 900 divisions is ship staff/honor guard. Their duties are body snatchers, greet officers and "important guests", drill team, guarding doors etc.

Hey everyone! I absolutely can't wait to get home and open the form letter from my son!  Informed Delivery is the best thing ever!  He's DIV 935.  That's the performing division, right?
