Hi everyone,

I finally have a moment to exhale and just say hello. :)

Hey Alicia,
I love the picture you posted of Jesse receiving his honor. I know it had to be such a very special time. You were talking about the Admiral and Commander and I have to say that I have never met an Admiral, that I know of, but I did meet the Captain of my husbands ship when he was in the Navy. I was an ombudsman, liaison between families and Navy, and we were invited to attend dinner on the ship with the Captain before the ship deployed. It too was an honor for us. The Captain was very kind and I felt at ease when talking with him. He gave us permission to say what was on our minds, with all due respect of course, and never made me feel uncomfortable. I think that is one of the things that I admire most about the Navy. They really do care for the families and this website is proof of it. I am so thankful and I know you are too.

* I am boring people to tears with my little photo album of PIR but I can't help it. :)

Hi Everyone....my son graduated this past Friday 6/19...but he was a member of the honor division so he actually participated in the 6/12 graduation..he was the honor guard RPOC who addresses the admiral (carrying the cutlass)...unfortunately he was not picked to do his own graduation ceremony so we did not get a chance to see him...so my question is does anyone have a dvd of the ceremony that they could copy and send to us?? we would be happy to pay for it and shipping, etc...also a copy of the graduation program?? it would mean alot to our family and to our son if we could obtain a copy of this graduation dvd....please contact me...thank you!

Hi u all, Talk about pics. I was so nervous that I did even take hardly any. I felt like a kid in front of a candy store for the first time. Stood staring with my mouth open. Could not even talk. It was like I keep asking him the same thing. "How are you ". Then the weekend went so fast. I got to spend all of friday & saturday mornning with him, then I took him to his dads hotel, so he could spend time with his dad. My son stayed at Great Lakes so he got liberty all weekend. Know we can txt and talk a few week nights. Tuesday is his birthday, he will be 20 years old. Happy Birthday son! Love ya Ladies God Bless And Happy Fathers Day to all you Dads

Hi All,
We had a wonderful time at Graduation and the Meet & Greet. I have enjoyed talking with everyone about their sons/daughters and their BC experience.

Kelly is enjoying CT...he said the food was amazing! We didn't get to visit with him after PIR since he was a Grad & Go...but we did get to meet him at the airport and spend about 6 hours with him there. There were 11 of them heading to Groton, and they were so much fun!!! They can now laugh at everything they went through. So far we can text Kelly and can talk some in the evenings. He said it was so nice there...around 70 degrees, versus our 96 degrees right now.

I am in the same boat as everyone else. My pictures are lacking! I was so nervous many are blurred.

Jesse just said he ordered the DVD and it will be sent here. Hopefully we will have some good pictures of his division and hopefully some that he is in! I was so upset with him the day of PIR...he had to go and check out of BC and go to the base to check into A School so after the meet and greet with the Navy Officials he needed to get going...I said we needed pictures taken, he said later so I told him to stay in the dress white...well, he changed into the other uniform so I have no pictures with us together when he was in the whites....I gave him big time heck about that!!!

Helloooo Alicia...

I'm sorry to hear about your pics :( seems like a few of us had trouble. Austin is also waiting for A school to start. I believe it starts next week It might be a good idea to mention to Sue about the seating arrangements. Perhaps the reserved seats could be an area in the bleachers, in front of the Divisions. It's too bad, I know it was a special honor! You might want to order the DVD, I did.

Jesse is still waiting to start school I think...I thought he said sometime this week. I know there were a few who's kids were starting A school for Corpsman too...have they actually started or are they still waiting too? If anyone has pictures of Division 219 I would love to get copies. We were so honored to have the reserved seating because of Jesse's award but I was so discouraged when we got there because we saw absolutely nothing in Jesse's division. The Grandstand was in front of them and we were not allowed to get out of our seats to get pictures, etc. We don't even have very good one's of him when he stood in front of the Navy higher ups due to the obstructions. I wonder if I suggested to Sue that reserved seating should be on both sides of the grandstand and that where you sit would depend on the side your recruits division is on. The meet and greet and reception after the ceremony was very nice and I will tell you, the Admiral was nothing like I expected her to be. I thought she would be very stoic due to her position but she was so nice, very warm and made Jesse (and I) feel at ease immediately! He was so nervous before we went in and was actually beginning to sweat. He did not want to let his division leaders down by blowing it and he was just really wanting to do everything perfect....and hey, I also got some great compliments on the sweater I finally found at the last minute by the Chief and Admiral about the gold Anchor buttons...it was silly, but I wanted to be perfect for my son too!

I flew in to Milwaukee and drove down to GL - traffic was not bad at all and it was only 48 miles. Seeing the talk about the traffic, if I ever go back I will definitely do the same thing again.
