OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option.

~It is also a good idea to change your visibility settings for your Profile Page (MY PAGE) to "Just my friends".

I'm a professional yo-yo dieter. I quit dieting about 10 years ago (41 was a hard year for me) I've pretty much maintained a weight about 50 lbs more than ok, 90 more than HOT! lol.  Currently I'm working on lowering the dreaded blood sugar - bonus weight loss without really trying!

@Ter-Bear this is very true. I'll probably get a milkshake on Friday or Saturday. Eating healthy and exercising all week will be nkxd to have a break.

Thanks for looking out for me!! :)

Kimberlya - I made a list of everyone and their divisions for myself to keep up with it.  I told my son (Ship 14/Div 198) to tell the rest of the SR's to get their moms on this site.

sspaws - 1 milkshake won't ruin your diet.  Make sure your body doesn't go into starvation mode or it will horde fat.  Dark chocolate is supposed to really good for you.

gxginn - welcome to the group! My list shows 4 in 194, including you.

SailorMoon- I can't keep up.  We should do a roll call.  List your son/daughter's name and their ship and division, please.

My SR is Cameron and he is in ship 12 division 194.
