OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

N4M's Community Guidelines

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option.

~It is also a good idea to change your visibility settings for your Profile Page (MY PAGE) to "Just my friends".

A sailor does not pray for wind, they learn to sail.

Hello All!

"This I declare about the Lord:

       He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;

He is my God, and I trust Him.

You're welcome, Navymom!

Navymom:  Check out Southwest Airlines into either Milwaukee WI (longer distance but shorter drive to traffic) or Chicago Midway.  No change fee charged, 2 bags check for free.  If flights have to be cancelled totally, ticket can be used up to a year....destinations can be changed for free....just pay difference in fare if there is any.

Received the form ltr yesterday- so thankful and relieved!

Has anyone found a refundabe/changeable flight reasonably priced.

From what I see it almost cost twice as much to do so...

Happy Friday!

"I will thank you, Lord, among all the people.

I will sing praises among the nations.

For Your unfailing love is as high as the heavens.

      Your faithfulness reaches the clouds.

Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens.

May Your glory shine over all the earth."

Just got a call from my SR and he has been placed in this PIR after having a medical issue that prevented him from passing his PFA. He sounds upbeat and says he is the EPO for his new divison and of course they are bombarding him with questions since he would have been graduating this week and has the scoop on what’s coming up, lol. Look forward to getting to know this new group .

Kathya - Have you tried calling his recruiter?  He might be able to look up what ship and divison
