IF Rudyard Kipling had a Navy Mom praying for him at RTC

If your child keeps their head when all your friends' kids are losing theirs,
If your child trusts themselves when others doubt,
If your child keeps the bathroom cleaner than you do,
If you can wait for a letter and not be tired by waiting,
If your child can force every nerve and sinew to serve their watch,
You can talk with those who do not share your love of the Navy and keep your Sailor's honor untarnished.
Because you can fill the unforgiving minutes, hours, and days of boot camp with prayers for a distance begun as a recruit that launches a life journey as a Sailor.

I love the poem "IF" by Rudyard Kipling. This is a quick attempt at putting it in a RTC light. My son is on the final stretch and my heart is full!

Great job Mary Mc, I really love this one. Enjoy that clean bathroom!

I assume he can clean better than I. I look forward to having the opportunity to test.

Hi, My son is in the warzone and the news is killing me so I made this poem.

TERRIBLE NEWS

News! News!
Terrible news!
Why can't you be in the sole of my shoes?
I don't wanna read you
I don't wanna hear you
I don't wanna see you wherever I go

So, News! News!
Please stay in my shoes
So I can step on you
And stomp on you
Cause I don't wanna know
You, Terrible News!

Just venting out guys.

My heart goes out to you Del. It is difficult enough for me to send my son off to half way 'round the world without having him in imminent danger. And i am so tired of the sensationalism of the news in reporting the news. They tell us about things we don't need to know and don't tell us the things we DO need to know, and use our sons and daughters as bait to get people to watch their show just to increase their ratings.
i will keep you and your son in my prayers. Will you share his name with us?
i whine about missing my son . . . i guess this really puts my puny little problems in perspective.
Bless You, Sweetheart.

Thank you Eagle Mom. Yesterday my son called and surprised me. He's home with his squadron safe and sound. I made a poem praising God. My son is Mac.

GOOD GREAT GOD

God is Good!
God is Great!
God blessed the weary and the weak
In the warzone where hope is bleak
We send our troops for peace we seek
Where enemies surround north, south, east, west
Lives were spent and tears were shed
In a war seems not to end
Elusive peace, far down the bend.

God is Good!
God is Great!
God blessed the weary and the meek
In the warzone where men lay dead
We send more troops where you fear to tread
Where fallen soldiers are heroes indeed
While you and I cry on our beds
And whisper a prayer for the troops left
"Lord protect them and bring them home safe"

God is Good!
God is Great!
God blessed us all who believe
In His great power and love that's forever
Can move mountains if you're a believer
He listens and answers all of my prayers
To keep my sailor safe and his squadron of soldiers
Now they are home, I praise God with joy

"Thank you Great, Good God, bless those who deploy"
