Hi everyone. My daughter is now a navy sailor. She will PIR on 10/24/08 and attend A school in Great Lakes to become a quartermaster. Looking forward to sharing with you guys.

you know I dont understand howcome there is only 7 of us in this group??? where are all the other moms....not say we arent good enough just wondering if we are it for the whole Navy lolol

hello all my son timothy....has finished A school came home for two weeks and is now stationed in
Japan for 3 years....he said the Qms don't really do much till the ship leaves port other than that they have there duties and watches just like A school....He is likeing Japan though.....we miss him terrible. His Birthday is this comming Tuesday...he said the admiral and the rest of the QMs get the day off they will all go into town to celebrate my sons B-Day I think that will be wonderful...its his first B-day away from us.... Hello my Son is a Qm as well his PIR is 8-29-08 he will be doing A school there at GL not sure when he starts just know thats where it will be. M/B he will find out soon last time i talked to him they hadnt got any orders as of yet....

Hi, my son Dan just graduated BC 8/15 and starts A school 9/2 He says it is 8 weeks. His recriuter told him it's a good job because you are on the bridge with lots of high ranking officers. Good people to hang around with! Dan wants to run his own charter fishing business someday so this seemed like a good fit.

hi carole, how long is A school ? My daughter thinks it is 4 weeks and I think it is 8 weeks.

Now that I've found out that Jan has been accepted to the Ceremonial Guard, I'm gong to say farewell to this group, at least for now. He still has plans to be a QM, but that wouldn't happen for 2 years.

I called around until I got a hold of someone who checked up on my son and told me he has started class. Hooray! Then they gave a message to his Chief that I want to hear from him. Hopefully I'll get a call from him someday soon now.

hi carole....nice to meet another qm mom ...my sons pir was 5/7 he was put on hold for quite awile waiting to start A school...he is in his third or fourth week now....and he loves it he is ahead of the class so hopefully we will see him the end of aug. He chose qm because its one of the fastest ranking jobs......don't worry u will hear from your son soon timothy had to wait for an opening and i'm sure thats what your son is waiting on......thank you for joining nice to know there are more of us out there
