It is a winter wonderland out there today for sure. But the dog's not too happy about it, lol. Wishing you all a quiet day by the fireside, if you got one. Or just curled up in a warm bed with hot chocolate and a good book!

Hi Marianne, it was pretty nice today, but it has been cooold!! I agree I love walking on the beach in the winter, It's so beautiful and quiet!!! Hope we can all get together soon!

Is everybody staying warm up there??? It's cold here so I know it is there! I hate this cold stuff, but oddly enough I LOVE to walk on the beach when it's like this. Can't do that here!!!! I miss RI and can't wait till the holidays are over so we can venture up there again!

Hi all, Yup we're spontanious, Trish,,and "retired"....so we can go anytime, anyplace. =) I have my physical therapy on Wed./ Friday,,but we are free anyother time.

Lois,

I was there by 11. Sorry I missed you. The castle was beautiful, I've put the pictures on Facebook. I always love getting kissed by 'pirates' though they came as a British Naval officer and 1680's gentleman this year. It was fun indeed. The castle has closed for the season now.

There's always opening weekend, the first weekend in May. Big encampment and lots going on for their annual "Bridge Into The Past" event.

As for coffee or whatever, count me in! Name the time and place and I'll be there. Joe's off this week too. Anybody feel spontanious this week?

Hi Trish, would love to get together, even to just meet for coffee(well, I don't drink coffee, but you get the idea). We came by Smith's Castle on Saturday, but I thought it opened at 10 A.M., so we were there much too early, and then we had so much going on the rest of the weekend, couldn't get back there! Maybe next year!

Sorry Lois, I need to read the post better. I was thinking you were suggesting today for a get together. Opps!

Lunch was great. It was just Jean, Art, and myself but we enjoyed every moment. Even ran into a young soldier having a final meal there with his family before leaving for Germany and than Afghanistan. We sent him off with big Navy mom hugs and wished him a safe deployment and quick return home. I choke up for everyone of them, especially Navy.

Can we try again before the holidays? I'd love to see you guys! If any of you are around today or tomorrow, Christmas at Smith's Castle is from 12-4. I've already got most of my Colonial getup on. It will be fun! Come see me if you can, though I don't know where they are putting me yet.
