I just found out I can get some extra money (to help pay for another plane ticket for my sailor once he is done with A school!) by working longer days at my school, so I think I'm going to have to cut down on the number of groups I am in so that I can better manage my time. Thanks for the conversation! I may be back sometime in the future...you've been great. Good luck to you and your sailors!

It is snowing here right now, expecting 1"-4"; then the wind will start up and the temperatures will go down. Saturday night-Sunda are supposed to be just horrible for travel, dangerous if stranded. But...Ethan is home! He is still sleleping, having gotten in to the airport after 10, then riding home with the two girls who came to pick him up. He got home shortly before 12:00 midnight, and I had actually been sleeping...wow, was I surprised! He got a huge kick out of my face when I first saw him...ha ha ha! I'm just so glad he made it home safely...I hope that all our traveling sailors make it to their destinations safely, enjoy their leaves, and safely return to their duty stations/bases at the appointed times. I wish everyone a safe and happy Holiday season!

We are gonna get hit by a major storm tonight, ice/sleet and then snow. I sure am glad Ethan made arrangements to get picked up and stay in Des Moines until Saturday! I am praying that his flight doesn't get cancelled!

Yeah! Ethan heard it wrong...his chit was approved, but he will fly into Des Moines really late on Friday night, so he will stay with the friend who will pick him up, then drive on up home Saturday some time...BRAVO ZULU! My coworkers told me I was just "glowing" all day...pretty nifty trick for a lady past 50, huh?

Good news on that front...I told Ethan to check with his supervisor, just to make sure. Can't believe a whole barracks would get stuck like that. Anyway, he asked his supervisor, and was told it would be checked on first thing Monday morning...Yeah!

Ethan just texted me...the leave chits for his barracks weren't approved. What do those guys do now? The whole barracks? I just hope this doesn't put him into a blue funk about being in the Navy...
