For those who wish to help those sailors in need when having to travel far from home or base!

Susan J is taking some time off to catch up... So I am updating the rescue list for now! To be added to the list send me (Susan mom to Niko) a friend request. Then you can send me a private message with your name, location and phone number. Then you are added to the list!

Thanks to the many moms and more that have volunteered their names on the rescue list! It is amazing to know that no matter where our sailors travel in the United States there is a mom there ready to rescue them with a hot meal, place to stay, or help to get back on the road!

Hey I am in. This sounds great. Whatever I can do to help. My husband is a computer nerd and I am going to have him look at this tonight or tomorrow for sure (tonight is trick or treat here in Ohio) and see what he thinks. I will get back to you asap.

Kat, if you go to the first page of your comments on your own page, you should find Catherine's (CC our Navy for Moms Admin) icon. She greets every new Mom that comes on site. :) Pretty busy lady, she loves good ideas and input from members. Keep networking ladies, this is really starting to come together.

FYI: Susan, we have started a grass roots effort in the Wa/Ore moms Group to connect Moms who live near our Washington State Naval bases (Everett, Bremerton/Bangor/Kitsap, Whidbey Island) with Sailors (and their families, especially wives/girlfriends) who are being transferred/stationed there. Many of their Moms have joined our Group as Honorary members as well. The connections and friendships forming are wonderful to see. =) Our hope is to offer support, area info, and be a point of contact, since so many of them are coming from out of State; the Navy especially seems to like to assign Sailors from Florida! Let's definitely co-ordinate our efforts. It's our hope that similar support will be offered within other State groups within N4M's, especially those with Naval Bases, that the word will spread and the network will build so that no Sailor finds themselves all alone, needing help or encouragement, far from home! :-)

Kat. You might talk to CC Navy Admin., if she doesn't know how to set it up, she might be able to point you in the direction of someone who does. That sounds like an awesome idea though..

HI All, I too am in the Columbus OH area and can also offer my home for a sailor that needs a home away from home. My son PIR's (fingers crossed) 11-7 and remains in GL for A school.

Linda, please add me as a friend since we are in the same vicinity (I think) if you ever run out of room I can possibly help you out.

Hi! I am in the Columbus Ohio area and would love to offer my home to any sailor that needs a night's rest. Or if there is anyone who needs a place for the holidays our home is open. If you are bringing your child up here to drop them before they go to GL and need a place overnight, let us know.
