Jammie Thank you for your welcome! I became a N4M member prior to my son leaving for BC on 9/21/2009. His PIR was 11/20/2009. He is currently on hold at Corry Station. He is happy to be at Corry! He is a Reservist and will return home after A School (and possibly C School) - could be several months to a year. Then he will be back in college to finish his BS. Congratulations ~ be proud! Bragging allowed : ) ~ kk

Welcome to you MamaBear kk. A lot of people don't get on the site very often, as you can see. You are always free message each of them separately by clicking on their "name". If you haven't already, search the entire site thoroughly. There is a great deal of information to be had here. Is your Sailor new to the Navy or are you just new to the site? I check the site about every 3-4 days, sooner if time allows. But I always check my email, which alerts me that I have a message. Background: My son is currently completing C-School in Pensacola and will graduate on Jan. 19th. He graduated #1 in A-School, and earned a 2-rank advancement immediately (yes, I'm bragging because I'm a proud Mama). Once he graduates, he will come home for 3 weeks before he is stationed in Hawaii. While at home, he will be marrying his high school sweetheart.....whew what a whirlwind. Anyway, just as you, we are proud parents and he is always in our hearts and prayers. Happy holidays to you and your family and thank you for your sacrifices to our military. Welcome aboard!

Hopefully my sailor will be off hold tomorrow or Wednesday... dont know about the upcoming holidays yet. She said probably not... Duty calls

No they dont..................they do try to maximize the number of people that can be off, they still have to meet all duty requirements and needs.

Thanks to all who commented on my question concerning the holiday schedule. He has ticket in hand and will be home for Christmas. We changed the wedding plans to the period in Jan/February that he will have (3 weeks) after C School graduation on January 19th. They will marry and then begin their life in Hawaii. What a fabulous honeymoon!!!!!! Happy Thanksgiving to all in case I do not make it back to this site before then. Your Sailors will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Congrats to all the graduates. My son has finished both A and C schools and went to his ship. We are proud as he graduated with Honors-he did not even tell us.
