Good Afternoon Ladies! I am new to the group as well, but see some of my friends from a previous group here. :o) My son had PIR on 11-6-2009 and flew out to Pensacola on 11-7-2009. He will be going to A school for IT. I noticed that Garrett'sMom son is an IT student as well. You mentioned that he has been there since Oct. I guess I had the understanding that "D" will start IT classes right away. Was there a wait for you son to start classes? If your son has started already, has he given you a rundown on how his days are going? "D" said he talked to a person since he has arrived there and they said the course is "self paced", so they work at thier own pace. They could finish before the actually time that was expected for school. Is this correct? Also, does anyone know when they finish their weeks of schooling, where do they go from there? My son has not met his room mate yet, as he thinks he went home for the weekend and may meet him later, but said the room was nice and clean, and his room mate left a note for him. How sweet. I think he's gonna like him. Im wondering if his room mate may be one of your sons. :o) Hope to hear from some of you experienced moms out there to fill me in. Hugs....Sherri :o)

Also spoke to my son a few minutes ago. Due to the lock down and having Wed. off for Veterans Day, they are going to cram a day and a half of his A-school into the last week of his school. He is due to graduate on the 19th. Here's hoping! He said that it's just pouring and not that much wind yet.

talked with Brandon also said same thing poss evacuate to georgia.
brandons got orders to come home for 14days then to hsl-49 (Scorpians) helecopter squadron in san diego ca. hopefully he can leave sat or sunday

Hi all. My daughter heads to A school on Tuesday. I wanted to join so I can keep in touch with others who have loved ones in Pensacola and to stay informed of all that is happening down there.

We are suppose to head to Florida this week also. Glad to see that Ida is dropping now let's hope there is not major wind and flood damage and it blows through fast. Haven't heard from my son yet!

When I talked to my son last night, he said if they did evacuate they would go to Valdosta, GA. Of course some would have to stay and sandbag and help out. It looks like it has weakened so hopefully everything will be okay.

Diedra, he seems to like a school, lots of homework, and as far as freetime, he likes to fish, golf (course right on base), he has a tv and xbox in his room and of course trips to p'cola beach on the weekends.
