Sandra, I will have to watch your posts here when he starts to search for that car. The RR will be coming back in the fall so I am sure Michael will probably have his car by then. Don't they want everything yesterday anyway!LOL

Thanks you all for the congrats,
Marianne my son is on the Boxer, once they come back in Aug.
I think he will he in his home port for awhile because I heard they are going
to be doing repairs on the Boxer. So I guess it would be a good time to get a car.

Sandra, Sounds like my son too. He has been deployed most of his time while in SD. He is on the Ronald Reagan and they just left again. He too wants to buy a car when they get back. Supposedly, the RR is going to be in for awhile. Hope so. My older son who is on the Carl Vinson will be heading out there next year! It will be a miracle to have both of them in the same place!!!! Congrats to your son for his advancement!!!

MY Sailor is in SD also and I have not seen him since before Xmas.
He has been deployed 5 month now.

My son has been Stationed in San Diego 1 year 1/2 now and he has been deployed almost 1/2 that time. He wants to get a car when he get back this
deployment.. And he just was promoted to PO2 and he wants to move
off base so he needs a car.

Sue, I live just outside Lemoore. We live in farm area so yes, having a car would be extremely helpful. Without a car or a buddy that has a car they are kinda stuck on base (which is 4 miles from Lemoore). Just to get from the barracks to the OP side (where the hangers are) is a 5 mile trip. I have been known to go get a Sailor or 2...or 5, and give them a ride into town so they can go to the movie or something. About the only place the Sailors/Marines can get to easy is the casino. You only have to be 18 to gamble there. I don't like seeing the young men/women come in there and win, then they are hooked on gambling and that is not good :(

I'm so envious, my sailor is in SD. Haven't seen him since Xmas.
