Vickey, any suggestions on how else to coat newsprint? I have some ancient newspapers (early 1900's) that I eventually plan to have scanned, but wish I could do something about them here (my scanner is not up to the job ... they're in very poor condition)

Be careful, though, of putting newsprint in your scrapbook. Unless it is printed on lignin-free, acid-free paper, it could out-gas and do harm to your pictures. If you want the newsprint (and it sounds cute!), laminate it. That will help it from deterorating and keep the rest of your album safe.

I make lots of journals, so I'm always thinking that way. :-)

Sarosa, that's a great idea. I didn't think of that. Valley

Valley, that also sounds like a great way to cover a journal. :-)

I found the greatest keepsake to include in my son’s scrapbook. It’s a personalized newspaper. You make up the headline and it includes lots of fun articles that we all enjoyed. It’s printed by hand on authentic newsprint on an antique printing press, so it doesn’t look scanned or digital. It looks like a real newspaper. We included information about our son’s graduation from boot camp. I’m attaching a link to this site.

Take a look. I think I'm going to order one for my Mom and Dad this year for their anniversary.
