Gloria: We wish you and your family the very best. Our prayers are with you at this sad time. May you know that she is in a better place to watch over you and your loved ones. Best wishes. Uncle jack.

Gloria, I am so sorry for your loss. My mother also just passed away-November 6th. She had an inoperable aortic anyurism. My family and I were blessed to have six days with her after she was hospitalized. My son was able to get leave from his command, too. "Sailor Ed" got three days to see his grandmother before she passed that he wouldn't have if she had not been so gravely ill. His chief gave him 2 weeks of leave to come home. My mother had six daughters, 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. My parents were married 54 years. Actually Mom's birthday and anniversary was just yesterday. My Mom was able to see 17 of the 18 grandchildren and 2 of the 4 great-grandchildren before she passed away. My Dad, sisters and I know how extremely blessed we were to have that time with my Mom at the end. I am so sorry for you and your brother that you didn't get a chance to say goodbye. You are right-it is very hard around the holidays. You and your family will be in my prayers.

Well hello eveyone its been awhile since I've been here. Has some of you know who are on my personal friend list I had a death in the family. My mother pass away this pass friday Nov. 20th. She lived in Puerto Rico. I just got back yesterday. It was not easy for us. My brother and didn't get a chance to say goodbye to her. It was a masive heart attack. The one who had it worst was our sister who found her. Its not easy especially around the hoildays. My son was able to get leave from his command so he arrived also yesterday to be with me. I am so greatful to them for letting him come home for this. I surely needed my son here with me it helps a whole lot. To all of you who send your thoughts and prayers thankyou. Thankyou for being my extended family

Melodie, Johnny just got his orders and will be going to Kings Bay but first he is going to Washington for another school until March. He is not near the top of his class so maybe all ET Coms have to go to a school beyond A school.

The Navy Lodge is also a great place to stay Groton. We were there in August and had a wonderful stay. Fully equipped kitchenette. We also had an adjoining room with my son's mother-in-law so we were able to open up both rooms together when we were all at the Lodge together, giving us more room to spread out. My son had to make the reservations and it was $75/night.

Hey fellow navy Moms:
We just returned from a visit to Groton to see our son and we stayed on base at the new Navy Gateway Inns and Suites. VERY NICE! We did not get the suite, yet it was still very spacious, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. For $56 a night, it was well worth it. Just thought I would pass that along in case anyone else is planning a visit.

It may depend on how many openings there are in a position also.

My son graduated 3rd in his class and to my knowledge "C" school was never mentioned. (Maybe it does not exist for his position, never thought about that! He is a NavET.

Donna,

My son just finished BESS and was put into ATT/TCNO today. He will start A sometime after Christmas if his hold is not too long. Does Johnny have a preference of where he would like to be stationed? Boomer or attack subs?
I've since talked to my son and he said C school is only for the top 2-3 students in A school.

Melodie, When does your son graduate ET comm? My son graduates December 15. He gets his assignment next week for his sub. He has said nothing about C school.
