But still, my question is how long do we have with a grad and go? Can we take him off base? Can I bring him his cell phone? So many questions and few answers.

Hi everyone. My son had his PIR on 02/13/09. some time ago!!!! Reading all your postings brings back some really good and sad memories!!!! He is still in GL. He finished his SCC school now he's in ATT school, then on to GM school,. He's going to be a gunners mate. I'm flying to see him fourth of July weekens and I can't wait!!! I haven't seen him since graduation. You all are going to LOVE graduation. It's such an emotional time for everyone!! Savor every moment you have with your new SAILORS!!!!! Congrats!!!

my packet said grad and go, how much time will I have with him? He wasn't quite sure when he called.

Hi guys!! This whole website is new to me and Im still trying to figure it out.
My bf's graduation date is May 8th and I already have booked my flight/ hotel.
Im staying at the COMFORT INN (3.4 miles away from the base) from thus-sun.
Any advice? I live in San Diego and have never been anywhere BUT San Diego. I am only 20 years old... and very scared of flying. Ive never flew before.. =0(

I'm so happy that you got that letter! Did your grad pack say anything about grad and go? From what I understand, if it doesn't say anything on the gard info, they are not grad and go. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
We booked our hotel (Residence Inn Mariott in Waukeegan, 2 1/2 miles from RTC) from Thurs - Sun but still haven't booked our flight... I'm still a little nervous and the cost to have flight cancellation is really high. Guess I'll wait a few more days!
I did get that beautiful letter... thanks for the good thoughts! Aren't they wonderful?
