Puffy's adventures continue- Puffy celebrates the arrival of a letter from her girl. Still don't know where she is, Puffy can't read.

Got my letter today. Thrilled I don't have to hound the poor mailman anymore. She sounds good and hasn't sucumed to any bugs. I am glad I have sent many letters already because she is hungry for news from home.
Seeing her off was rocky at first. When she left for MEPS on Monday a friend dropped her off at the Recruiting office. She said her goodbyes to us earlier in the day. Funny thing though. Instead of leaving for BC the day after she went down to MEPS, she didn't leave for another 2 days. She ended up calling me upset about the fact she would be in the same clothes for 3 days. So, what's a Mom to do. Actually it was the best choice I ever made. I took clothes down, stayed the night, had dinner with her. Next morning I went to her swearing in ceremony. Took lots of pictures. And we had some time to talk which was wonderful. Thanks for asking.

Congratulations Jackie I know your daughter will do great. She seemed to been ready and calm about going into the Navy. She is a fine young woman and will make a great sailor. Now is the hard part for Parents the waiting! I was wondering how it went seeing her off.

Hi Ladies been a few days since I have been in this group. Still waiting on word from me daughter. Got the box still waiting for the letter.
Darsete and Ray Ray - My d went in as an E3 so she has seniority. And since they had 20 recruits split into 3 flights they put 3 of the most senior ones in charge of their groups. She had 6 girls plus herself in all. On one of the letters I sent out it showed an older baby duck leading a passle of other ducklings. Thought it was appropiate.

If you go to Mollys adopt a sailor group, look right above the comment box (that I am typing in now) and you will see a section highlighted in blue that says "discussion forum), I think the first or second choice is "Update - MAS Special Hugs" and that is the group. The special hugs group is for injured or sick sailors. The main group chooses I division/ship/squadron/etc every month and they mail packages to them.
