My son is in prototype in BS and I think he is supposed to graduate in Feb or March. I've lost track and he's so happy living his life that we talk only once a month or so... I need more news! Haha

My son and his wife are heading up to BS in October.  What words of wisdom cam I give my DIL, and what might she expect?

Hi Debbie!

We are still waiting to find out if and when he will be going to New York.  I agree with all that you said about them having the opportunity to see so many places.  Although Charleston is much closer for us, I am excited for him to see upstate NY too, as it is very beautiful there.  I'll let you know what we hear.  Yes, I am from Colleen's boot camp group.  Hugs! Tricia

Hi again Navy Army Mom,

It seems like we've taken over this page. :)

It's great to see a familiar name on here. I feel rude not calling you by first name, though. Are you one of the Colleens from the bootcamp group?

I'm glad our boys are staying together. Atleast, they will be if your son gets to go to Ballston Spa like he's hoping. I hope so. I like the idea of them seeing as much of this country as they can before they take off to explore the rest of the world. I'm a little jealous. I'd love to travel the world! Maybe someday I'll be able to retire from California teaching and do just that. Teaching for the military would be nice. In the meantime, I'll just have to make do with visiting as many places my son goes to as I possibly can.  :)

Oh great!! I'm glad to hear that everything worked out so nicely and especially that you'll be going up there in June...how exciting!

Our son is single....we're still not sure whether he will go to NY or stay in Goose Creek yet. I think he's kind of wanting to go to NY.

Thanks Navy/ArmyMom. My son will be living in the Balfour Beatty housing in Saratoga Springs with a roommate. It turns out that single sailors can get housing there too. They'll have a 2 bedroom house with a garage and washer/dryer. Hopefully, they'll get along well. I'll be going out there in June to help set up the necessities. Going from a fully furnished BEQ with a cafeteria that prepares all your meals to an unfurnished house where you have to feed yourself is bound to be a little shocking. :) I hope your son finds housing he likes. Is he married?

Hi Debbie,

We thought our son would be staying in Goose Creek for prototype, but now it appears that he may go to NY. I know another Sailor who is headed for NY and I think he left yesterday.  Your son probably already knows him, but I will ask my son if this Sailor might be looking for someone to share a house/apartment or can help with housing.  Best wishes to your son.

My son is looking for housing in Ballston Spa. He's single and leaves Goose Creek April 21st and reports for duty in Ballston Spa the 29th. Any advice would be appreciated.
