Cori, give your son an extra hug from me. This is the first holiday that we are not together. We are both okay about it but it's still just not the same.

Robin ~ can't wait to see the pictures and glad to hear you are feeling better. You had me giggling when you were talking about your son and how far away Hooters is! Funny that our Florida boys always find the closest one...even if it is a good drive away!
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and Joyeous New Year! My son will be home in 5 days and I can't wait. Going to be nice having all of them home this year!

Donna, glad to hear son coming home for holidays. He will love Whidbey, my son won't be back from Afgainistan til May or June. He did leave a car back at base, Whidbey. Things are not close by, have to drive, my son says closest Hooters is an hour or so away. My Florida boy born and raised has spent almost 2yrs at W.I. and seems to love it. Hope to talk soon

Hello all I am trying to get thru the days not hearing from my son via e-mail since their is no phone has been a lot tuff er than I thought. Working 12 hrs a day 5 days and I am even working extra on 6th day. My right side (back) is still hurting always have this pressure, but I'm able to move around better than last week. Am putting together pictures from Wreaths. Have many people and groups e-mailing us with pictures and thanking us, all have many good things to say about the day, loved the ceremony. OH my last comment I just re-read boy I was really in a hurry or in pain or both rearranged words and left out words or mis-spelled words.LOL Like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Is it the one in Wesley Chapel. If so, I am in S. Tampa. Would be good for me. It would be great meeting Moms of sailors in my area. People who know first hand what it is like to have a child in the Navy.

I'm not near Wiregrass (seeing that I live in Citrus County) but, I heard it was a nice place. Could be a good meeting point. I agree that maybe after the holidays would be nice. Things will have calmed down some.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a safe New Year!

Maybe we could all get together soon after the holidays. Wiregrass isn't near me but I'm willing to go there. Do a lot of people live over that way?

Happy Holidays!
My son will arrive Monday for a 2 week visit! Following his trip, he will prepare for the next duty station at Whidbey Island, Washington state. Trying to figure out if my Florida boy might like cold, wet Washington State!

It's been quite some time since we have gotten together. If anyone want to try to plan something on a Sunday that would be fun. The new Wiregrass mall is right by the Interstate 75 and has lots of fun restaurants & shopping. I know holidays are hectic, but we should all stop and try to connect! Let's start planning!
Happy Holidays,
Donna

Wow, sounds like a perfect success. Wish I could have been there. Won't miss it next year, though. Give Steve a huge hug for me and thank him for all he has done. Nice to know there's someone out there helping out these heroes....like you said, he's an unsung hero.
I'm feeling better. My left leg still hurts, but it will heal. Went to a concert last night with my husband and it was bothered more by the up/down/up/down of it. But, fun none-the-less. Kinda stiff this morning when I woke up.
Hope your siatic (however you spell that damn word) nerve moves into the right place so it's not hurting you so much. I know that's painful. Take care and get some rest.
Can't wait to see the pictures when you post them. Hugs to all and our Sailors!

All went well had alot of people show up. We covered the 402 section then moved across the to left and filled that then on to the right section. Our seremony part of the event also went very well. It just keeps getting bigger every year so awsome to see how it has grown. My Steve (Smoke) has done such a wonderful thing taking this on 4yrs ago. If it wasn't for him it wouldn't be what it is today he is a true unsung hero. Those few who are with him everyday to see all the time and efort he puts in this. The phone,e-mails,letters, flyers and the wonderful program he puts together. Did have a lot of people say it was the best ceremony they ever attended even the new director of Bushnell said it. Do hope you are feeling better. Will post some pictures as soon as I can. Seems I have a back problem (some think it's a ?siatic? nerve. Not sure how to spell that do not even know what it is. It hurts that I know. Will get in touch soon With lots of love to all of you and our sailors.
