It is good to hear everyone's sailor is making it home safely. I am not going through that yet but...my daughter has battlestations starting tomorrow night. She was supposed to have PIR'd 11/25 but was hurt and had to practically start over. She is now to graduate 12/30. She won't be home for Christmas but her sister and I are going to get to spend a few days with her in Great Lakes.

Thank goodness Ben made it in from Baltimore. It was touch and go there for a while with the airport closing and all. He said that was more snow than he'd ever seen. He'll be going to San Diego in January after A-school graduation so it may be the last he sees for a while.

I'm glad your son made it home safe. Jamie had the chance to leave early so he left yesterday morning at 3 and didnt make it home until 2:30 this morning. Because of the road conditions. Jesse's leave will start @ 5 tomorrow morning but since he has to work until then he will sleep a few hours before he get's on the road. I hope they get the roads cleared by then. It usually takes about 8-9 hrs so Jamie's 23 1/2 hrs is unreal. We were so worried about him since we didnt hear from him for a few hrs so what a relive when he made it in ok.

Jamie is Jesse's best friend from highschool he's a corpsmen...Jesse is an AZ and has shore duty until March 2011. Ethan is and BJ will be on the USS Rosevelt. Chas is on a ship too but I dont remember which one. They are all best friends from the same class from OHS. Now we got word that one more of the click is getting transfered there next summer. Were all happy for the boys but at the same time us moms are a bit worried they are great boys have become fine responsible young sailors but together there is so much of a better chance for them to do really stupid things.
Jamie had a chance to go home earlier so he left yesterday morning around 3 and because of the bad weather didnt make in home until around midnight last night. Jesse wont leave there till around lunch time tomorrow since he works night he has to get a little sleep before he heads out. Today is my sailors 20th birthday. It nseems so unreal to me that he's 20 now.

Angelika, may I ask what ship Jesse & Jamie are with? My son is on the USS Ponce. We live in Cunningham, just outside of Clarksville.

I hope your sailors make it home just fine..delayes is a lot better then canceled then waiting when they can fly.
Jesse and Jamie are heading home from Norfolk on monday morning early. I cant wait. But do worry. Jamie will be driving the first part so Jesse can sleep (he will be working till 4:30 that morning) I hope all the roads are in good shape by then. We got some snow today. Just a few miles up the road from me they got a couple in inches in about an hour.
