New Navy Mom from Spring, TX.....anyone from the same area?

Just wanted to introduce myself to this group. My name is Shirley and I joined a few weeks ago but haven't posted much on this site. My son left on 11/4/09 for bootcamp in Great Lakes. It's been a rough few days for me and apparently that is pretty normal for all the Mom's on here. I should be getting the dreaded "kid box" anytime I believe. Just wondering if there was anyone else out there from the Spring area?

Donna, I heard it was great. My son performed at your son's PIR. He carried the Vermont state flag. Another mom from your PIR posted pictures on our site. It looked fabulous. Where is your son headed now?

He was a grad and go to Great Lakes for A school. He is going to electronics school, then I think he goes to San Diego for minemen school. Where is your son now?

Hello,

My name is Margoth Schmidt, my son is a NAVY Corpsman, He left on Nov 17, passed trough OH, Canada, Germany, Russia, and finally he made to Afghanistan this past Saturday.
Our Last phone conversation was Friday, Unfortunately he we will not be able to communicate as much since he is not allowed to used a cell phone, he is assigned to 15 marines, his dreams was to safe lives and is now a reality, I can’t not tell how difficult this is for me and my family, but he is our HERO and is now in God’s Hands, God is his light and ours.

He did boot camp in Chicago, graduated on Sept/2007, then went on to Navy Hospital Corps School, was stationed in California where he did his internship, he graduated with honors and was awarded for his excellent achievement.

I am now an Official Navy Doc’s mom.

He is not a sailor but is a fellow Navy Man.

I’ll love to meet you one day.

I live in spring, TX, Close to Klein High School.

Shirley hi my name is Dorothy our son left today for BC I will miss him so very much it will be very hard on me, so very proud and sad all at the same time.. I live in splendora which is about 30 miles from Spring, please tell me this get's easier as the day's pass, because right now my heart is broke...

Dorothy, If I told you that I would be lying!! Mine has been gone almost two years. I cried all day today.

Good news - we are having a Navy Mom's get together in Old Town Spring on December 5th!! We would love to have you join us! We are meeting at the Cheddar's on I-45 about 11. Just let me know!

I 'am really going to try and make this meet, i would love to meet you and other Moms in our area,
thank you for all of the support you give to all of us moms. it's really hard for me to get into the Christmas spirit
this year, I usually have our tree up thanksgiving evening but this year idk.... I think when I get my sons address and hear from him and can write him it will help me move along alot better, his recruiter said maybe this evening or tomorrow he will have it, God I pray he does... It's the not knowing thats the worst.
