My son, Michael, is finally here with his 5 month old baby and girlfriend. Michael was on the USS Roosevelt which just got back after 7 months in the Arabian Sea. He had not seen his baby, Austin, until 2 weeks ago and this is our first time to see our grandson. What a delight! My daughter whose husband is in Iraq has a 3 week old baby girl. It is so nice to have them all here. I am in grandparent heaven!.....It is hard to adjust back to all of the noise and activity...haha....but I'll handle that. We will have Michael and his family here for 2 weeks.
Note to the moms who have children deployed: E-mail them every day, even if the only thing you have to say is that you did laundry today. It helps to have that connection.

Joni, my heart goes out to you. The first time we sent Ryan back off after his first visit home, I couldn't even get out of the car at the airport - it was a year before we saw him again. We try to make plans to see him between times, but as you will find out, schedules change. We received a call from Ryan last night after over a week of no communication - he's on the USS Eisenhower. It's what they have chosen to do and we support it - even though our hearts are breaking. Hope all you Texas Moms have a great day!

Wonder why this site is showing that it's May 16? It freaked me out. I was thinking, "Oh, great. I'm late paying all my bills!"
We took Greg to the airport. It's so hard. I had to talk myself out of crying because it would make him feel bad, too. He gave me an extra hug this time. I wear Bath and Body all the time and he likes my scent. I think he was also feeling sad, too, though. We're not going to see him again for more than 6 months because he's being deployed. I guess it's my turn to feel jealous when your sailors come back. Here he is at the airport.

Thanks, Michele. I'm not crazy about edicts and rules, but I guess it is the military. I would be interested in knowing what it is I shouldn't do.

The vacation sounds like fun, Cecelia. I'll bet it's well-deserved, too. I know what you mean by having to take a vacation to rest up after a vacation.
They told me I opted for the Ranger tickets and I'm still trying to figure that one out, since it's not my team.
The email form Navy for Moms I got said we should be there 15 minutes before our shift, which is reasonable enough, but I hope they take into consideration that some of us our in unchartered territory and we might get lost. Since my daughter is working that day, I'll be glad to stay over, though.

Thanks Joni for the offer of the tickets. Realistically I will probably be too tired to go to the game after my vacation. For a whole week we will be down in San Diego area going to Seaworld,Zoo,Aquarium,Legoland, etc. So I am not sure I could handle driving to Dallas/Fort Worth area and then driving back then the thought of going back to work the next week. Would need a vacation to recover from the vacation. Everyone stay well. At the prison we are getting masks and hand sanitizers for the visitors coming in (now that is bad).

I received an email about the Seal event in Keller. Is anyone else having trouble getting into the do's and don'ts page?
Janet, I was able to get to Media Moms, just by searching groups. I looked at your page and you're not far from me. One of the newspapers I currently work for is in Boerne.

Thanks, Janet. The group is called Media Moms. You might be able to get to it by searching on the gtoup site. It's near the end of all group listings.
Cecelia, I wasn't thinking when I read your post last night, but if they give me free Ranger tickets, you most certainly may have them. I love baseball, but only if it's my Cardinals.
