You should also post this on The Sailor Rescue List. They have a forum started out there with lists of names of soldiers and sailors, etc that have been injured and are looking for encouragement and prayers and cards.
Does he have family that is able to visit him? How about for Christmas?

I wanted to post the address of a young Marine who lost both of his legs (due to an IED) on October 28th in Afghanistan. He just arrived at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. I've put a card in the mail to him today and wanted to see if my fellow Texas Moms would like to send a Texan greeting to him. He has a group on Facebook, Prayers and Encouragement and his name is Joshua Sweeney.

i am from the area-we live out side of ft hood in killeen! my husband was stationed there and then when he got medically retired we came back here.my son was told no army when he talked about enlisting.my dad was airforce but the recruiters in colorado where rude so he went navy with a awesome recruiter!!
i love it.ft hood is huge though.the 4 yrs we where here was awesome!!
are you in killeen also? or cove or heights

Anyone from "the Great Place" cough cough Fort Hood? Better known as "the HOOD"!! Sure it's the largest Army base in the free world but we do have a sprinkling of Navy peeps in the mix. Unfortunately, due to being a Army base most new grads think to go Army or Air Force as their choice after school. John and I are doing what we can to try and build the NAVY recruits up. He's already stopped by the school and talked with a bunch of kids that he went to school with and have them thinking about their future. Would love to find some more moms/girlfriends/family members in the area. Would love to meet some of the members from the Austin area but right now time is a huge factor in what and where I go. We're about an hour North of Austin and most of my days off of work are spent running John here and there for last minute things or PT.

Hi, I am from Gilmer, TX . My son Cody shipped out on the 15th to GL. Miss him terribly, but know he is doing a great thing. Cant wait for the first letter and PIR date so that I can plan our trip to grad.

I hope Houston traffic is not bad on Friday. My army son comes in at Hobby and 3 hours later my Navy son come in at Bush. Do you think if I put a big yellow ribbon on my truck traffic would get out of my way? LOL
