Donna (mike's mom) - I'm so sorry, i got you mixed up with another Mike :)

Carrie - yes we will be in Chicago arriving on the 23rd and leaving on the 27th. Brandon will be stationed in P-Cola. His brother is stationed at Jacksonville, FL so he plans on visiting him while he is in A-School. It's hard having them both gone :( I'm hoping brandon chooses San Diego as his station. it would only be a 6 hr drive. We talk to our other son about every other day and he tells us we should move to FL...not ready for that kinda of a change, but not having them here is an adjustment alone. If I was working (was layed off last year) it would make things easier as I wouldn't be thinking about it so much. Anyway, I'm babbling. Have the suitcases out and eagerly awaiting the packing day. Hope to run into any or all of you on grad day. Hope to get a phone call this weekend too.
Carrie-Proud Mom of Amber Comment by Carrie-Proud Mom of Amber on July 10, 2009 at 10:18am
We've gotten 3 phone calls since Amber's been in. Her platoon (or is it barracks?!) got a 4.9 on their last inspection, so she got a 30 minute call home Monday! Joy, she absoluttly loves helping people, so being a nurse is a great choice for her! Her grandfather always tried to tell her to become a Dr, but she likes the one-on-one that a nurse does!! So where will Brandon be going to school? So will you all be in Chicago for the Big Day?! I already have my suitcase packed!!!

Are a lot of you getting more than 1 major phone call, my daughter is in division 936 and she had one midway phone call for an hour and that's been it. She is in the choir and on ship staff so she works nights, I was just wondering. Anyone else have a daughter in 936? I think I saw a couple of Moms with sons in 936, waiting for PIR tick....tick

Hi Joy. No, we have never lived in Arizona. I lived my first 25 years in So Cal, but have lived the remainder of my time in Washington. So, I'm not sure if Brandon is speaking of my Michael.

Jeremys Mom - please remember that we're not allowed to mention last names of our recruits. I made that mistake myself. It's a privacy thing for the recruits. We use first names in this site and they use their last names. Sometimes they don't even know the first names since they can only call each other by their last.

Joy-Thanks for the clarification - just wrote what he wrote:-) He told me that his whole Division was sick as well! Hi to Carrie & momof2sailors!! I wonder if our kids know each other? My sons last name is Durocher. I'm surprised that there are only a handful of Division 255 moms on here! I am getting sooo excited - I just can't wait to see him!!

Carrie - Nursing will be a great career for her. I wish her the best of luck. Brandon will be going to school for a PR (Aircrew Survival Equipmentman). They keep all the aviation survival gear in working condition. This jobs also prepares them to get into the Seal program. We moved out here in 1998. Your fortunate to spend the weekend there. Our div is grad&go so he will be off a few hours after graduation. I plan to make the best of it.
