Stephanie, I don't know about the mass on subs but I do know about it at BC. My son loved it!! He was one who refused to go to mass alone but he did at BC and was so excited we could all go together on Easter Sunday as that was his PIR weekend!!! It is at 8am. The priest is awesome!!! i was so impressed at all the recuits who attended!!! The mass and homily where so to the point I could see why Jimmy liked it so much. Best of luck to you and him!

Thank you Karaqueen. I think my son would be one of those who is 'a day late and a dollar short' and thus miss opportunities available to him. He will have to make the effort on his own, and that is a good thing. Thanks too for the group of Sub Moms idea. I hadn't looked into that yet. I am in NC but Camp Lejune is far - I noticed you posted your son will be there later.

Hi Stephanie
I'm not sure about subs, but the letter I just got said that he missed services because it was scheduled at the same time as chow....I'm not too sure if it's just a communication problem or what. I have a feeling that after BC things are better.
Have you looked for a group of Sub Moms, I'm sure there is one!

My son is leaving for BC the end of August and will eventually be on a submarine. I was wondering what his Mass options will be once he is 'under water' later.

Hello Ladies,
I"m thrilled to have found all of you, but I shouldn't be surprised. N4M site has
proven to be such a comfort.
Shared prayer is so powerful, and a mothers' prayers can't be beat. We must
never stop storming heaven with our petitions.
Our son, Phil arrived bc 7/16 and his PIR is 9/11. Ship 07 Div 316 . He will be in the RP program his A school is in Mississippi and then he'll do Marine combat school at Camp Lejune.
May the Lord bless each and everyone of our recruits as they "do" their time.
Give them strength and fortitude for the tasks ahead of them. Lord help them to feel your presence always. Protect them in every situation and circumstance and keep their families safe at home. Amen
Peace , Jan

Hi Mom's of Faith. I've been looking for you. My son is in BC with PIR 8/21. He's doing fine, but my older daughter is not. She's a single mom, with 2 little ones. She just started her first job as an R.N. It's been a struggle for her and all of us who love her and the babies (6 and 2). My son is very close to his sister and hated to leave tor BC because the restraining order she had against the babies father was up on 6/30. We all tried to get her to re-new it, but she didn't. Now, only one month later, he is back in her life and my heart is breaking. I won't go into the gory details, but this was not a healthy relationship. I'm so afraid for my grandchildren and my daughter. Please pray for her to wake up before it's too late. I'm not afraid for her physical safety as much as for their emotional and spiritual health. I'm also really torn over whether to tell my son about it. I know he would want to know, but he's headed to pre-BUDS after BC and he has to stay focused on himself right now and not let this interfere with his dream of becoming a Navy SEAL. Thanks so much for being here.

I received the first real call from my son today. He is having a good time. He said that boot camp is a constant reminder that "God is good and has a big plan." I was so grateful to hear his voice! I am so proud of the young man he has become.

Hi there every one! so happy to have found this site. I have used this web site(N4M) through out my sons journey in the navy and it has always been so helpful. Great blessings for those who choose to be in the service and also to those like myself who support them from our homes. I do not think I could have done it with out my faith.

Hi Everyone! I'm new, and praising God for finding N4M's. My oldest son has decided to enlist, and is currently doing MEP's. It has been a prayerful journey thus far. I am thankful he has such a strong faith, as the journey ahead seems to be a rough one for all of us. I'd love to 'chat' and pray with you too. God has been so good to us in helping M. I know there are other families I can be praying for and giving thanks for in this forum. God Bless all our men and women that have chosen this path!
