Moms-Need of prayers please. Our daughter Olivia is doing Battlestations tonight.
We are praying she passes, her PIR is Friday if successful. Thank you.

Amen! I wish our daughter would go to service more often. Denise, your son is a fine young man. I know you're proud!

When my son was in boot camp he also attended the services and he really enjoyed them and found them most rewarding. He also said that it was the only time that he had a min. to himself to think with out some one over his shoulder. He looked forward to them every sunday and then he used to write me to tell me about the sermons. It was also nice that he was there through out Advent which is always a lovely period and his PIR was 24th December so I think he put a lot more in to it. What ever works!

I believe any Christian religious service would be edifying when you're under the stress of boot camp. God's Word is such an encouragement; it gives us hope & comfort.

Stephanie,
Although my son has not attended the Catholic services, he commented on how thought provoking the chaplain's sermon's are. This has proven to be an important part of his boot camp experience.

Stephanie -when we were there they marched over to the chapel in their DIV -there are numerous different services going on in all the chapels. I forget how many there were and we we left another group was waiting to go in for a different denomination. They even had a recruit choir. It was beautiful!!! I hope you get to atten at PIR. Let me know if I can help with anything else.

Dor-I'm glad to know the time as he will get there on the weekend so he won't have much time to look into it. I think that is a good way to see and meet other fellow Catholics too. I appreciate it.

Stephanie, I don't know about the mass on subs but I do know about it at BC. My son loved it!! He was one who refused to go to mass alone but he did at BC and was so excited we could all go together on Easter Sunday as that was his PIR weekend!!! It is at 8am. The priest is awesome!!! i was so impressed at all the recuits who attended!!! The mass and homily where so to the point I could see why Jimmy liked it so much. Best of luck to you and him!
