Scott - I am so sorry to hear the crappy outcome for Megan and you. I just don't understand how the Navy can give her the boot and offer no hope of coming back, especially after all the hard work and sacrifice. I say fight it if you can!!

Oh Scott.... That is horrible. I just don't understand that at all. I have a son and a daughter that had kidney stones One Time. And they have never had them again. It just doesn't make sense to me. You know, sometimes a discharge can be fought. If she really wants this then maybe you guys can fight it. Being a Marine I'm sure you have heard lots of stories of guys that fought their discharges and won. There have been such cases in the Navy as well. The thing is to find someone to help you fight. There is a NC in one of the groups and I think she might be able to tell me what can be done. Would you mind if I ask her?

Scott, I am so sorry for Meagan and for you. I know how much planning and waiting and effort and sweat blood and tears you have both put out for her dream; it does not seem fair. I hope that if this is what has to be, she is processed quickly and gets to come on home to you and your daughter very soon.

I'm in shock, Scott. After everything that she went through in boot camp and all the extra mornings in the wee hours at the pool to get her swim qualifications, and her scores.... I am so sorry. It doesn't make sense to me.

Wow! Scott.. really sorry to hear that! I hope that something can be worked out for her. Doesn't make sense that they will remove wisdom teeth but won't treat kidney stones. Crazy
Scott - Megan's Husband Comment by Scott - Megan's Husband on February 24, 2009 at 9:07pm
So the Navy gave Megan the big FU and told her that she is going to be discharged for Kidney Stones. Seriously WTF. They said that she has too many and that they are too small to be treated and that she will not be allowed to even come back in a year. She was told that she can NOT join the Navy at all now. I told her to fight it. She couldn't stop crying the entire phone conversation. To think that she did everything that she had to and now the Navy isn't going to hold up their end and provide her with medical care!

Hi Everyone! Rusty has phase 2 liberty and is thrilled that he can have his "civies" He starts one of 2 schools he will need to complete on Monday. He is finally getting somewhere. I will be headed back to GL 3/20 for the weekend and he will be able to stay with me at the hotel! I am so excited! Feels like it has been a year since I have seen him!

Hi Gina, yes Whitney is certainly climbing the walls! She called today and they are apparently moving them to a new building so no phones or computers will be available for a few days. She did sound better today though. It's just a hurry up and wait game :)

Just noticed you started this new group. Are we getting rid of the other one with the yellow flower? If so, I will delete from fav.
John is in GL. Spoke today. Can ask again about starting A School on Thurs. So far, nothing.Original paper said 2/23 when he first moved to Dewey Ave. but that didn't happen. Has phase 2 liberty so that's not bad but ready to start school too!! So glad you all are still around here!
Scott, we are hoping for the best for Megan.
