Ronnette and I are bursting with pride. Zach graduated A school last weekend (Adam the week before) and they are now Petty Officers!

Hi to all. Zachary graduated from CM school (Construction Mechanic) on July 21st. Home for 2 weeks and he left yesterday for Gulfport, MS where he will be stationed. He is in the 25th Seabee Construction Battalion. Won several awards while in Port Hueneme. Very proud. Have enjoyed reading about all of our sailors. Many blessings to you all.

Brandon was so glad to get away from GL after that winter. Being from the deep south, he had never experienced anything like that. Of course, he will be in CT for through Dec, and it might be just as bad.

It's good to hear how everyone is coming along.
Ryan is still in Great Lakes on HOLD for his ET "A" School. These long holds can be frustrating for them but he seems to be taking it all in stride.
Looks like he might get some leave to come home for a week. He isn't projected to start A school until the end of September....and he thought he would be gone before another winter in GL. I think they plan on keeping him there forever...LOL

Paul finally completed AWAT and ATT now is doing is actual A school and has been made class leader. Hopefully he will graduate end of October, there is talk he may have to go to C school for up to a year, but that would be OK by me, it is in Biloxi which is really close to home.

Adam passed his Comp for A school yesterday with flying colors. He graduates on Friday the 31st, with honors!! He will be on "t-track" for the next 2 months doing 12 hour watches until his power school starts. (but he gets leave starting labor day weekend since his leave got delayed).

Last I heard from Scott was that Megan could go back in a year as long as she passed the medical exam then, skipping boot camp. Scott only had about 15 months left in the marines....which would make it easier on their family....

I hope it all works out for Megan and Scott as well. What a great couple and so committed to their country.

Bob will class up to Sonar school on the third. If he can graduate top of his class and make it three for three they will give him a special invitation to C school, a more specialized Sonar Tech billing and will also give him an automatic E3 which he was told he would get for graduating top of his class at YN school in Mississippi. But it that distinction didn't carry over when he cross rated. This gives him something to strive for and it will open many more opportunities for them in the future.

Ruth, Congrats on Christopher! That graduation class is going places fast!

Congrats to all our Sailors and all the proud parents that are along for the ride!

Karen, You asked about Scott and Megan. I have heard nothing at all since he last told us she was home several months ago. I emailed him before I left North Carolina to let him know I was leaving for Charleston and if she does come down here someday, to please let me know as I could assist them with being a local point of contact. I did not get a reply. I hope it all works out for them.

Zach was telling me that someone they graduated boot camp with just arrived at school in June, he had been up there in Ship 17 since February, waiting on some liver scan to clear him. How's that for a long wait on a medical appointment?

Hello everyone, it's been a while but things are going pretty well for my son Christopher. We just got back from attending Chris' graduation from HCorpsman A-School in GL on July 16. Chris graduated with "Distinction" which is gradepoint bet 90-95. Honors is 95-100. He graduated Valedictorian out of a class of 81 the paper says. The Corpman A-School graduation is really special. Much more personal, calling their names etc. We were very proud. He classed up the 17th already for C-School, Dental Asst, with the other 6 Special Ops "drops" that got stuck with DA out of his class. Chris has developed "cellulitis" in his left calf while we were there and we found out today that they ruled out a blood clot so hopefully the antibiotic starts working. He needs to PT test one more time for his SARC certificate. SARC is Special Amphibious Recon Corpsman...Marine Special Ops. This is what Chris is planning on doing after his Dental commitment. It's good to read what everyone else has been doing and is accomplishing. Will keep you posted on anything further that comes up. Have a great week everyone. Ruth VH, Mom of Christopher (the "old man" at boot camp) now 32 yrs of age
