Ladies, those of you attending tomorrow's DEP Families and Navy Moms Potluck here in Tucson: I drove out to the Reserve Center, south on Wilmot, south of Golf Links and about 100 feet from the Wilmot gate going into DM, turn LEFT! Light brown angular building with light trim. As you enter the parking lot, you'll notice the Navy anchors!! GO NAVY! We will be inside, don't let the 'cool' weather keep you away. Start at 1pm - 4pm and ALL ARE WELCOME!! Bring a dish according to your name (see event) or bring what you can, just bring something and come! Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow!

Hi Colleen, my son's PIR was back in April, but I grew up in Northern Indiana. Take warm clothes it will be cold and windy. Nothing like the cold wind coming off the lake. We went down to Chicago with Brandon. In the old days the stores in Chicago really decorated their store windows for Christmas. Don't do the Sears tower. We thought it was waste of money, besides in December you probably won't be abe to see very far. Not too many sunny days in December.

It really won't matter what you do, you will be with your Sailor and that is everything.

Just a reminder: DEP Families and Navy Moms Potluck this Saturday!! There is an event created to RSVP. Gabrielle Gifford will also be a guest speaker. The Navl Reserve Center is NOT on base. It's on Wilmot, south of Golf Links!

I'll definately get sub-70 weather at GL. We'll be there for PIR 12/4. Any advice?

I'm doing much better now-received a good letter yesterday. He's in his 4th week & adjusting well. He is excited about performing in the honor guard. Very excited for RIR 12/4!

My guess is about 3/4 of our Navy gets orders for Norfolk, especially if the Sailor's family is out west! lol

Hey Joyce,
He has orders to Norfolk,VA. Not his first choice, but is happy to know where he is going. I guess, more content than happy. He should be home soon, but probably not for the holidays, which makes me sad, but, that's the way it goes.

We talked to Brandon last night and he has his ticket to come home for the Christmas shut-down at GL. Now I'm getting excited for Christmas.
