planning is important.. there are mainly water activities. our first year there we did a glass bottom boat trip which was kinda fun.. If I recall I was a tad bit seasick! It was also 20 years that we were there so I am sure there are all kinds of new stuff to do.. Just walking around Duval street was a sight in itself.. Just watch for when Fantasy Fest is.. can be a bit risque if you are taking young ones.. I hear Hemingway Days is fun as well.. The weather is gorgeous and the sunsets are amazing.. I do recall that they had an aquarium, because I have pictures with my daughter touching some of the animals..

I forgot to ask about Key West when I posted yesterday.  We are planning our next Spring Break trip there so any suggestions would be appreciated.  We will fly to Miami and drive from there.  We try for a mix of outdoor activities (hiking, biking, kayaking), relaxing on the beach, and shopping.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  It's a year away but I am a planner, and I know some things need to be reserved far in advance.

So even though I live in Minnesota (born and raised), I did spend one year in Georgia right after I got married.  We lived in Dunwoody.  I love the upper mid-West and the changing seasons, but "the change" is way behind schedule this year.  We are getting more snow the next two days!!!  We have peeks of sun today, but it has been mostly cloudy (and snowing or raining) since last Thursday.

But none of that compares to the sadness/anger/confusion surrounding Boston and everyone impacted by the events yesterday.  My heart goes out to those that are suffering and those now dealing with restoring order.

Oh boy do I remember Andrew.  My son and I just got back to the states in May and Andrew hit that Aug just and a week later my son turned 4 it was his first hurricane.  We had about 10,00 homes to get flood for Andrew.  Seeing the Keys in on my bucket list.

It is so neat the 'small world' connection we all have.. I lived in Ga most of my life, with the ex being Navy we lived in Norfolk, Key West and Jacksonville.. He left I stayed..lol.. My dad lives near Lake Altoona, I will have to look you up next time I come up to visit.. I grew up around central Georgia.. we did live in Acworth during my elementary years.. It is pretty up that way.. very peaceful.. I have been in Jacksonville for 21 years almost.. the boys were born here since I was pregnant in Key West with them when it was time for Hurricane Andrew to come through.. they were afraid I would go into labor too early.. so my daughter and I moved up a right before it hit.. My neighborhood is kinda of small town feeling, but everything is close by if I need something..

I agree Kathy.. it is very sad what happened in Boston.. it seems there isn't too many things that are safe anymore :(

Hope everyone has a blessed day!!

I live south of Orlando, I moved her in May 2009 from southeast Louisiana about a hour south of New Orleans.  I have 3 cousins that live in the Atlanta area.  I  just got home and I am reading all the news about the bombs.  I just hope none of the guys on the boat are from the Boston area.

I have to say other than the storms yesterday, I am loving my Florida weather.. I just received an email from my son that is in Japan and he said he misses FL weather.. :) I think he just misses me :D
