hi everyone......my son's birthday is coming up in early november and i want to send his package out this month so it gets there in time. i'm wondering......has anyone tried that cake-in-a-jar idea, and how did it work out? thanks!

Thanks for the info; I know I need to make sure to remind my Sailor to order the book.

Also, for those who have the order forms for the deployment photos, tomorrow is the deadline for ordering. You can still order them after tomorrow, but there will be a $10 late fee.

Yay for halfway too!! Michelle just emailed and said Cruise books are going on sale soon. So make sure your Sailor orders one. Also she said to watch the Family site for Tiger Cruise details. They are not out yet, but she said they will be soon.

Finally got an email today. He has been on the ship for a week now. Said he really likes its. Things are going well, but working hard, Said they keep him very busy. Can't wait to hear more.

Runaway Bay seems nice. Michelle and John do not have children, and only have a one bedroom at this time. Typical apt complex. They do have w/d in their place and also the units allow dogs, which they have. It is in the Town Center part of Virginia Beach. I don't remember if there were parks nearby or not though.
