On the ombudsmen have emailing tree that they send out notifications to that they have posted something to their yahoo group webpage..which you can go look at old files and all thats on there. The FRG (family readiness group) only sends out information through emails as it is avaliable..they dont hava a yahoo groups webpage. hope this helps!

Need a little help here. I signed up for ombudsman, All that did was give me a yahoo account. I though I would be getting updates and pictures from the deployment. I also though I would get all back updates that have been sent out. Will this come later or did I do something wrong. HELP!

oh, he most certainly did! i sent a container of icing with it, and he ate that right up with a spoon haha birthday cookies sounds like a much better idea!

aha!! thanks jenny!! that's what i was suspicious about. my son turns 21 in nov. and i think i'll send birthday cookies instead! sorry yous didn't make it but i'll bet your sailor appreciated the effort!!

deb- i sent cake in a jar to my sailor a couple months ago. it seemed like a great idea at the time! i was really excited for him to be able to have real cake for his birthday. unfortunately, it had spoiled over the two weeks of shipping. i was told it could last up to a month, and i followed the directions perfectly after searching recipe over recipe to be sure i got it right.

i've heard of some success stories, but mine sure wasn't. best of luck if you try it! i personally won't try it again though unless i am sending it to him when he's back at base! good luck!

no information has been released... you should request to be added to the Ombudsman and Family Readiness Grp email trees so you can get CORRECT news and information when its available. its for ALL FRIENDS and FAMILY!
