Oh Pj when did yous son geraduate from A school. My son graduated on veterans day, and we are anxiously waiting to hear when he can get liberty. Did he get off right after he graduated? How long did he have before he had to report to Virginia?

good morning, well my sons leave is over today and he is leaving for the Vinson today, he will arrive there at 4 this afternoon, he seems nervous. he said he know a few guys from boot camp and GL A school that will be there too, so that is good.
Saying good bye to family and girlfriend was tough yesterday.
but he is putting in for liberty the 2nd week of Christmas, hopefully if he gets it he will still be able to get a flight home too.
hey - have a great day today.
hugs
Pj

Do you guys have any idea how long it takes for the ship to get over to SanDiego...and when would they be leaving? Do you call an aircraft carrier a ship? I'm new at this...please be patient ;o).

I know I'll probably be a little morose when the ship leaves for SD.I kida like the idea of having him on the same coast as me.

Marianne---Had dinner with one of your Tiger Cruise shipmates last nite--Carole--she said she had a blast.

Welcome gvw! I know the bittersweet thing you're feeling too about them moving. We are in NJ and it is only about a 4-5 hr. drive. The only good thing is that his brother is on the Ronald Reagan, another carrier in SD and they will be sharing the same pier! So that makes it a bit easier. I love SD anyway so more excuses to get out there!
Honestly, after spending 7 days on a carrier it would take LOTS to move that baby! Those sailors are probably safer on that ship than they would be in a house out there right now!!!! Thank goodness is right that they are safe and warm!
