Patrick finally made it home last night,close to 15 hours after he left Norfolk.When he was a little over 1/2 way through the W.Va. mountains,he was ready to quit.He called our son-in-law to tell him where he was,and it was decided that Mike{son-in-law} and Mike's dad would meet Pat in Charleston.Mike drove Patrick's car from there,while his dad drove their car. Everyone arrived home safely.Patrick said it was much easier driving down the mountain,knowing that someone would be there to meet him.
If I don't get back here before Christmas,"Merry Christmas! God bless us,one and all!"

Hey everyone - Wedding was last night and I am SOOOOO TIRED!!!! Once I have some idea what the heck I'm doing I'll try and get some pics posted. All of our company is loading up to go home - I am so glad I took today off - there is no way I could have made it to work - not sure I can move off the couch. I now have a daughter in law though - it was so beautiful - small but very very special.

Good morning. Sorry I've been gone. Just crazy busy. Actually still am, but am waiting for my IPod to recharge so I can go for a run. Last week was orientation for the new job. Went well. The peeps I trained with were really nice. Found out we are all on facebook, so we all decided to 'friend" each other. I don't seem to be able to keep up with cookie baking this year. I really want to have cookies when Nick gets home on Wednesday. We will only have him till Sunday. Just doesn't seem long enough. Then the following Sunday, my older son James heads off to OCS. Maybe being so busy is a good thing so I don't have time to think about all that. Anywho, got gingerbread carosels to put together today and get my older daughter to a get together and the bird to the vet, ugh! Okay, hope everyone is enjoying their visits with their sailors. Hope the weather co operates from here on out.

My son drove home today with two other sailors that came to spend the weekend at our house. It usually takes him 5-6 hours to get here. They left VA at 9am and got here around 6pm. that tells you how bad it is out there. They are planing on going to the Eagles game tomorrow. I hope this storm stops so they can have a good time. I am praying for all those sailors going home to make it safe.

Evening Everyone!! Joanne I feel your pain, it seems like everytime my daughter was to fly in her plane was delayed for some reason or another. I am with you, we all need to pray for our sailors and everyone that is traveling. Marci, good luck on getting out on time Monday, I wish you the best!!

Ugh, sorry to hear that ladies! I fly out to Norfolk early Monday morning. I hope the weather is okay for flying! We can all pray for a Christmas Miracle. :)

Morning Everyone! Notice I didn't say good. :( I feel your pain, Joanne. Rob was supposed to drive home today too. It isn't very bad here, and not supposed to get really bad, but the entire route looks treacherous. I had to talk him into waiting too. Hopefully the traveling conditions will be better tomorrow.

I am so disappointed!!Actually,disappointed doesn't even begin to explain what I feel. Patrick was supposed to head for home this morning,but that's not going to happen.While I would rather have him safe in Norfolk instead of driving through the mountains in the snow, I just want him home!!! He still wanted to leave this morning,but I convinced him to stat put a little while longer. If all goes well,he'll be home in plenty of time for Christmas! Please pray for all our sailors,and everyone else out on the roads,for safe travel!
