Hey Kathryn - I've been pretty good, just really busy!! My DH and I leave for MD. on Sat. to pick-up my baby grandson (in pic) from my sis's whose been generously watching him for 2wks. Dane and the "baby's mama" are both set to deploy so, we'll be caring for him during that time! Heck yeah!! bring it on!! I can handle it! Who am I kidding? I'm still helping my other son to care for my other g-son(21/2) It's good I'm still soooo young and vital (47) ha!ha! How's life been treating you? I see your still posting your "artwork" te-he!! TTYL!

Sorry for the mistake, I forgot about not posting last names. Here is the letter that the officer wrote to all the sailors that work on planes. My son emailed it to me today and I wanted to share it with all of you.

Cats & Dogs,
Five years ago today I ejected from Wildcat 410 after an uncontrollable (& unpreventable) engine fire. On this 5th anniversary I wanted to take a moment and thank the men and woman of the Wildcats for doing their jobs to perfection that day. It was because of the inspired efforts of your predecessors that I am alive; a proud tradition that you all continue today.

Today I wear the blue of the Pukin’ Dogs and am honored by the commitment and professionalism I see here. Since that day five years ago, not once have I climbed the ladder of an F-18 without a true appreciation and understanding for the care that each of you take in carrying out your work. From Admin to Ordies, I am eternally grateful for everything you do each and every day to ensure our safe return.

Celeste, Hi how are you?? Haven't seen you here for a while so I'm glad your back. And thanks for posting about Military Family Appreciation month. I too, am so glad to be part of the Navy family and especially this Ike Family, not to mention proud to be an American.

Anne, I know what you mean. They grow up so fast. And we raise them to do just what they did - leave us!!! But knowing that doesn't make it any easier. So hang in there with us and we will all go through this "D" word together and believe it or not have a few laughs along the way.

Tatiana, Thank you for posting that letter. Wow - what an awesome thing for that LCDR to do. I am glad that he knows that he can't do what he has to do with out a lot of other sailors doing their jobs too. It is truly a team effort.
Can I ask one favor of you please? Please copy it, delete it and then paste it again without the last name of the LCDR. We aren't supposed to mention last names on here. Don't want anyone to miss seeing it, but don't want the Administrator to have to say something or delete it herself. Thanks.

Anne R- I'm sure it happens to all of us. I also saw the memorial and cried all the way. You can't help but fear to be in that position one day. W e all just have to stay strong for our sake and for them too.

Thank you Tatiana. I have been okay but I saw that baby picture and the Fort Hood memorial and it all hit me. I will compose myself again, you just never know when something you see or hear just sets off the emotions.
